The 1998 Executive Board of the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry were installed at the annual dinner held last Saturday evening. Pictured above, left to right are: Kevin Daleiden, immediate Past President, President Bernice Bakley of Huntley Travel, Vice President Jan Hoeft of Interior Motives, Treasurer Nancy Toplavich of Harris Bank, Secretary Brenda Curry of First National Bank of Marengo - Huntley Banking Center.
The 1998 Board of Directors of the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also installed last Saturday evening. Pictured above, left to right are: Miles Crawford of Huntley Factory Shops, Todd Syverson of Franks, Gerkin, & McKenny, Karen Fleck of Michael J. Fleck & Associates, Tricia Clancy-Hopp of Countryside Realty, Patricia Verladt of Color Services & Associates Inc, and Pete Lemanis of McHenry Savings Bank. Absent from the photo are: Scott Montgomery of Big Dog Sportwear, Scott Sutherlandof Freund International, Jim Henry of American Family Insurance and Suzanne Brown of the Huntley Farmside.
Chamber Award Winners were as follows: Chamber Involvement - Gary Sullivan of Tyler Press, Community Involvement - Brenda Curry of First National Bank of Marengo, Business Beautitication - Drago and Barb Zgrabljic of Water Tower Grill, Ready Willing and Able - Steve and Cathy DeOuaker of S & C Creative Concepts, and the President's Award - Jan Hoeft of Interior Motives.
Pictured above are members of the cast and crew of "This Old Bam", a historical documentary on Bams of McHenry County being produced by Kemper Insurance Company for the McHenry County Historical Society.
Featuring the "Best of All Types of Bams", the film is narrated by WON Radio personality Orion Samuelson. Filming and voice overs were done last Monday in Deicke Hall, the historical barn exhibit area at the McHenry County Historical Society Museum in Union.
The Historical Society plans to make the film available to local community groups. They also hope to be able to make it available for sale to the general public
Huntley Home & Business Expo
Limited exhibit space is currently available for the upcoming 1998 Home and Business Expo to be held on February 21st and 22nd. The event is sponsored by the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Space is being sold on a first come, first serve basis. Members and non-members are invited to showcase their products and services to the public attendees can sign up to win a trip for two to the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa including all day ski passes at the Mountain Top, round trip limo ride provided by Travelin' Wright Limousine of Crystal Lake, and fresh flowers provided by Huntley Floral.
Mini seminars on a variety of topics will be held on Saturday, February 21st from 11am to 3pm. The Ranger, Bill Cavanagh, will appear in person on Sunday, February 22nd from 1 lam to 2pm. The Ranger has been billed as an impressive Chuck Norris look-a¬ like and has appeared as the cover story on Entertainment Tonight. American Journal and the Jenny Jones Show.
