Park District Minutes
Hood's Farewell Outing

The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 8 pm on Wednesday, June 26, 1985 by President Tures. Present were Commiss¬ ioners Tures, Olson, Gumett and Jurs, Attoraey Cowlin, Mrs. Deieke, Mr. Wirsing and Mrs. Warrington. Mra. Mercer was absent.
Mr. Gumett moved to approve the minutes of the May 22 meeting, second by Mr. Olson. All ayes and the motion carried.
A motion to accept the reasurer's report was made by Olson, seconded by Mr. Tures. AU ayes and tfae motion carried.
In a letter from Mrs. Deieke, she expressed her thanks on becoming an Honorary Member of the Board and the plaque presented to her at the Town Picnic.
Otfaer thank you letters were read from the Senior Citizens and tfae Ituntley Sdiools.
The biUs for the month were presented. After discussion Mr. Jurs moved to pay aU biUs. seoonded by Mr. Guraett. The
motion passed with three ayes and one nay (Olson).
Mr. Olson made a motion to approve the reservation re¬ quests, second by Mr. Guraett. AU ayes aad the motion carried.
Mr. Gumett gave the insurance oonmiittee report, stating they finaUy found coverage but the costs are about tripled.
Mr. Jurs gave tfae grounds report, especiaUy plans for planting ftiemorial trees this fan.
Mr. Olson reported on signs and portable pli^rm stage.
Mrs. Deieke presented the board witfa a lecture of the Deickes for tfae park offlce. She inquired about needed picnic space.
The discussion with Mr. Wirsing included stump re¬ moval, dead trees, weeds, wateriine to Cole shelter, compressor, need day for horseshoe pits, paint light poles and stain shelters. Mr. Wirsing left the meeting.

The Huntley Hood's gathered at Igg's Parkside Tap before going to dinner at Fisherman's Inn in Elbum. The outing was a FareweU Dinner for Jim and Peg Schultz who wiU be moving to Florida shortly.
The group was formed 24 years ago by Howard Ruth who took them to a $1 Fish Fry at Martinette's (now September's) in Crystal Lake. Many times over the years there have been poems
etters in the paper from one member to another and there has t>een numerous pranks pulled by one member or another, aU in good fun.
