'^1 I" m< i"i *•*¦ :ts9t PARK DISTRICT HALLOWEEN PARTY On Saturday, October 30, Huntley Park District sponsored a children's Halloween Party & Costume Paradel About iiOO children tumed out for the festivitiesi After everyone paraded around the Grade School gym, a Walt Disney Cartoon feature of 3 popular cartoons was shown, followed by refreshments of donut holes and chocolate or white milk (fitmished by Dean Foods) I This event is provided tne to the children by the Park District each year. With all the "insane cruelty" that has been going on in the past few years, the Park District is considering setting up donation cans in the business establishments around fbr residents of Huntley to place donations in to be put towarda a party for the children with treats, games, prizes, etc in place of the tradhkmal Trick or Treating. If you have any commenta or suggeatkms conceming this, please contact the Park Office daring regnlar office hours of Mon. A. Wed. 9:00 -12:00 or Sat. 10:00 -12:00 at 669-3180. Grant Beadle, company president, accepted a letter of congratulations firom Goveraor James Thompson. The presentation was made by Mike Woelffer from the State Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA) who credited Union Spedal fbr "keeping competitive in the world market." Bill Hubbard, chainnan of McHenry County's Economic Development Committee, acted as Master of Ceremonies and introduced guests. The load EDC helped arrange tbe program and another held an houre earlier in Hebron (br KeiKMha Beefs expansion program. Senator Jack Schaffer tdd the gtoup at Huntley he was glad the state's economic devetopment activities were being backed ap at tiie oounty level. The Huntiey Jaycees dressed in their scariest garb giving the youngsters a chilling thrill. Screams could be heard tor miles around. Bake sale and Bazaar will be held from 9 am to 1:30 pm. Luncheon will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with special fast serve line for employees on lunch break. Child care will be provided for shoppers at SOc per child. Tickets for luncheon are $3.50 adults, S1.7S for chUdren 12 years and under. Mr. Jurs moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Mr. Weltzien. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. The Treasurer's report was given. Mr. Weltzien made a motion to accept the report, seconded by Mr. Jurs. All ayes and the motion carried. The bUIs for the month were presented. Mrs. Mercer made a motion to pay all bills presented, seconded by Mr. Weltzien. All ayes and the motioncarried. LeRoy Wirsing gave hia report on maintenance and grounds.
