FATHER DAY DIES
Father L. Dudley Day, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church from 1939 to 1900 died on January 20th. Father Day and his twin, Sister Edmunds, were bom on Mardi 5, 1902. He came from a fiimily of ten. He graduated from St. Oavid's School in Chicago in 1915. On JuneS, 1927 he i»as ordained.

SGT. ROSSI APPOINTED ACTING CHIEF OF POLICE
Sgt. Rich Rossi ofthe Huntley Police Department was appointed to the position of Acting Chief of Police last week following the resignation of Chief of Police Richard Ptak last Wednesday, February 19th.
Sgt. Rossi came to the Huntley police Dept. on March 1, 1979. He was promoted to the rank of sgt. on June 1st, 1981. He was assigned to the investigative department of the Huntley Police Dept. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Green Trees housing project on Friday, January 28th at 11:00 a.m. The project is locatedon the Dhamer property at the East end of Huntley. The Senior Housing Development is flnally a reality. Afier several years of work to get housing for the elderly, Nancy Brisooe of the McHenry Cotmty Housmg Authority has announced that worii will begin almost immediately with comp¬ letion by the end of August of this year. The complex will have 28 one bedroom units with Idtchen, badi, living and storage area. There will also be a centrally located recreation room and plenty of parking facUities.
The public is cordially faivited to attend the ceremoniea on Friday.

ATHLETIC BOOSHTERS VALENTINE DANCE
The Huntley Athletic Boos¬ ters Qub will hold its Annual Valentine's Day Dance on the evening of Saturday, February 12, 1983. It is an adult dance to be held at the Huntley American Legion. Doors will open at 8:30 pm and the band is the Dynamics, a group that plays SO's & 60's music. They will begin playing at 9:00 pm. Tickets are S3.00 for a single and SS.OO for a couple. The SO/SO giveaway drawing will be held at this event provided all the tickets are sold by that date. Come out and enjoy yourself. HOBOSHOW TICKETS ON SALE FEB. 12
The Chancel Choir ofthe First Congregational Church has set the dates for their annual Hobo Show and Dinner as March 4th and Sth. They are expanding to three shows to try to fill the demand for seats. So if you had given up on getting tickets, this may be the year to try again.
