Prairie Adds Path
With a lot of hard work and donated materials, the Huntley School Prairie now has a beautiful path through it. Last week Mr. Bob Tures, of Matt Tures ic Sons Nursery, gilled, or broke up, the topsoil in the prairie. He had stopped by several times during the week to check for dryness, without seeing any. Solarcrete and Mr. ic Mrs. Peter Konopka arranged for the large landscaping timbers from J. H. Patterson of Huntley. Mr. Chuck Veach, of C. T. Veach Landscaping, drew the plan and headed Sunday's work crew. Taylor Stump ic Tree Removal Service donated several loads of wood chips and X> ic Z Transfer, Inc. and Randy Zimmerman donated the gravel.
The crew started at 7:30am Sunday and finished after 5:3Ppm. Chuck Veach laid out
the blueprint with string and directed everyone else. Jay Jeschke, Larry "Buzz" Barton and Arnold Hildebrand worked all day. Jeschke said "The only bad part of this is not seeing Indy." Other fifth grade! dads who helped half the day are Richard Taylor, Top/Parker, Doug Jacobson and ¦ Joe Williams, Sr. Fourth grade dads who helped were Peter Endyk and Dave Oldham. High School students who helped were Tim Lombard, Paul Leffelman, Dan Origer, Robert Fuller and Rich Boetcher. The entire Veach, Oldham & Lanphier families were even there to pitch in.
The fifth grade techers for next year, Linda Lanphier, Pat Lawlor and Lonni Oldham, thank everyone for their donations of time and materials. It couldn't be done without each of you.
