Soccer Awards Banquet
On Saturday, October 28, the Huntley Park District Soccer League fmished up the Fall Season with their soccer awards banquet. All of the participants in both the Spring and Fall Leagues were invited to attend and were awarded a patch. Graham Knott, president of the Park Board made the presentations, introducing the coaches and all of the participants. It was a very successful season for all of our teams and it
wouldn't have been possible without all of the coaches and referees. The Park District would like to extend a big thank you to all of these people! Under 8; Hossein Kendy, Dave Trost, Jim Homuth, Under 10; Terry Frihart, Jim Grabill, Bob Headley, Rich Tinsley, George Lombard & Rose Brown, Under 12; John Mercer, Mike Lekics and Jay Jeschke, Under 14; Sally Origer, J. Olson and Dan Fruin, Under 17; Haakon Helland.
Huntley residents, ages 3-18, participated in a pumpkin decorating contest sponsored by the Friends of the Huntley Library.
Prizes were awarded in each age group and to 3 overall winners in funniest, scariest and most original categories. Winners received books donated by the sponsors. Judges were May Chesak, Mayor Dhamer and Eric Mychko.

Ages 7-10: Dana Standing, Kyle Williams & Kathy Holtz
Ages 11-13: Ron Rasmussen, Don Farrell ii Leslie Wesemann

Park District Halloween Party
On Halloween all the little ghosts and goblins in Huntley made their way to the Deicke _    Recreation Center in Deicke Park for Huntley Park District's annual Halloween Party! While there, they enjoyed Fun Fair Games (loaned from the P.T.O.), refreshments and the judging of the carved pumpkins (sponsored by Friends of the Library). Everyone had a "ghoul" time! The park district would like to thank their helpers, Michele & Angie Diedrick, Sue ii Dayna Frihart, Christy Jilek, Sally Warrington, Denice Ball, Ammie Reed, Amy & Amanda Piske, Destinee Jacobson, and any others we may have missed!
Chuck Sass, Dick Kohley and Chuck Staadt helped with the cooking at the Lions Pancake breakfast.
The Huntley Lions should be "old pros" at this pancake business by now, as it is one of their major fund raisers. The money raised is used for
the welfare of the conmiunity as well as for eye research. The Lions wish to thank all those who support their efforts.
HEA Coral Unit
The members of the Coral Unit of Homemakers Extension Association met for their monthly unit meeting on October 4th at Joyce Liputs home.
"What's Up Doc?", the lesson for the month, was presented to the unit members, after the meeting, by the Extension Advisor, Nancy Moore.
Good health care depends on a partnership. Both patient and physician or other health-care professional must share responsibility for communication. This lesson provided information to assist us in helping families become active partners in their own health care.
"The 'doctor knows best' attitude can be counter¬ productive to good medical practice and your health. By learning what to say to your doctor and when and how to say it, we can improve the quality of our medical care."

Huntley Penguins
A reminder that the Penguins of Huntley Snowmobile Club's annual SNOW BALL DANCE is .November 11, 1989. The time starts at 9:00 pm at the Huntley American Legion. Music is provided by Straight Ahead Music. The price is only $5.00 a person. Door prizes will be given away all night, plus a cash raffle. Tickets for the cash raffle will be available at the door. The Snow Ball Dance is open to the public, so we hope to see a lot of you there.
