BLOODBANK JANUARY 18th
Aurora Area Blood Bank will sponsor a community blood drive on Tuesday, January 18, 1983, at the First Congrega¬ tional Church of Huntley, from 3:00 to 7.00 p.m.
The Aurora Area Blood Bank provides blood tor patients in a nine-county region. Blood is provided to all residents in the region without regard for the ability to pay or donate blood.
A single blood donation provides a unit of whole blood, which can be used to transfuse a patient, or may be processed into several blood products, such as plasma, red blood cells, or white blood cell concentrate.
Donors should be between the ages of 17 and 65 and weigh at least 110 pounds, most people are suitable candidates as blood donors unless they are anemic, pregnant, have a cold and have not donated within the last eight weeks.
Volunteer telephone callers will be calling previous donors stated Huntley Blood Bank Chainnan, May Chesak. New blood donors are needed, also. She urgently requests all who can be donors to respond as blood is badly needed to meet the needs.
