Section 6 FFA Natural Resource Contest
On Saturday, October 15 at 9:00 a.m. the Section 6 FFA Natural Resource Contest b«gan at Huntley High School.
Huntley's FFA hosted and designed the Natural Resource Contest to increase and enrich the knowledge of our natural environment in education. Plaques were donated by the McHenry Soil and Water District and Bass Pro Shop of Woodstock, Illinois. Huntley School district did not enter this year because they felt it would be unfair for the other participants.

Congregational Church s Annual Craft Fair
The First Congregational Church of Huntley, 11628 Main Street, will hold a Craft Fair on October 22, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Many craft itttins witl be on diaplay, including aome for Christmas. Get an early start on your holiday shopping.
Board Of Education Mmutes
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158. Huntley Con¬ solidated Schools, Huntley, Illinois was held in the High School building on September 15, 1988 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 7:35 p.m. Upon roll call the following memb«ra answered present: Mrs. Schadt, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Heavey, Mr. Freeberg. Absent: Mr. Bauman, Mr. Greve. All present joined in the pledge to the flag.
1. Mr.Crabill moved, Mra. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the August 18 Tax Levy Hearing for 1988 aa written. Yeaa: Crabill, McDonald, Schadt, Heavey, Freeberg; Nays: None, S yeas - 0 naya. Motion carried.

Fire Prevention Week Activities
On October 12, a smoke house trailer, furnished by the Wonder Lake Fire Department, was taken to the Huntley Grade School. Huntley Fire Chief, Dave Veath, was aasuted by Harold Hansen, Jr., Kevin EUison and BiU Kresal, Jr. in this presentation.
Students in pre-school through fifth grade leamed how to escape from their homes in caae of fire. It i» hoped that these children wiU take this information home and practice an exit driU with their parents in their own home.
A new VCR tape from McDonald's Corp., entitled "How To Survive A House Fire", is available free to any club or organicstion in Huntley by contacting the fire chief at 669-5066.
In addition to the activities at the grade school members of the fire department have been quite busy. During the month of September there were 38 ambulance calls and 11 fire calls/ 49 total calls.
A fire equipment demonstration wae given for the pre-schoolen at both locations and another demonstration it scheduled for the Cub Scouts.
On October 8th Huntley took it's "graas fire" tmck to Spring Hill MaU for their annual Fire Prevention Week Display.

Auxiliary
Meeting
American Legion Auxiliary meeting of Huntley Unit #673 was held on Thursday, October 13, with President May Chesak presiding. After the opening ceremonies, the charter waa draped in loving memory of Carol Wierich.

be studied this year, chosen
for the Foreign Relations
program. Collection taken at
each meeting wiU go to the
U.S.O. and to the Radio Free
