The trip is offered by the Huntley merchants and The Huntley Farmside. This is the second year that a trip to Pheasant Run has been offered. The winner ofthe Trip for Two is Jim Weirich of Huntley who had registered at Parkside Tap. The winner of the Sportable TV from V&V Electronics was won by Darwin Moerke of Huntley who's slip came from Freund Equipment. Gift certificate winners and the merchants are as follows: Dan Follman • Buck Brothers; Roy Dollman • Marlowe Feed & Continued on Back Page Santa visited the Nursery School at the Congregational Church and passed out stock¬ ings, courtesy ofthe Lions Club. Lion Charles Ruth and Lioness Helen Ruth were assisted by the teachers. This was Thursday, December 21. Also on that day. Lions Dennis Rudsinski, Dick Swanson, and Chuck Lamb visited St. Josephs and ShermanI Hospitals passing out gifts tol the children of the Pediatric Department. Also visited was the Larkin Home for Children where some 31 children receiv¬ ed gifts. On Thursday evening at the Huntley Grade School, Santa visited and passed out Christmas stockings to those youngsters from K thru 6th grade. Lion Amie Chesak, chairman of this evient had elves Dennis Rudsinski, Dick Swan¬ son, Jim Weirich, Edgar Ream. Dick Kohley, and Charles Ruth. Saturday afternoon, Dec. 23 Santa and elves, Ed Hayes, Dennis Rudsinski, Jim Weirich, Charlie Sass, and Charlie Ruth went to Valley Hi Nursing Horae and parsed out. stockings and gifts to those residents. Satoi^ay night, Santa and his elves, Jim Weirich, Dennis > Rudsinski, Tom Ramsay, Chuck Lamt^ind Charlie Ruth, went to the needy families in Grafton Township with gifts of toys and Continued on Back Page Again this year, we would like to reminsce with you. Many interesttog events happened in Huntley in 1978. Without further ado, the ii^ew will begin: JANUARY THe newlear began with Karen Drendel competing in a State sewing cont^ while Ron Hisel worn a savings bond for the logo he created for th^untley Fire Department. Hedy Leonard became the Woodstock Seatinel Correspondent. The third week in January saw LeRoy Marks, Superintendent of the Huntley schools, resigning. Charlotte Freund was one of the McHenry Savings & Loan winners. She won a sno^lower. The Huntley Athletic Boosters hosted a Valentine Dance at the Legion while the Hoboes were preparing for their annual skit. The January 26th edition featured the Huntley High School Bowling Team who were Number 1 and the Issue of ice skating at Deicke Park was in the news. A volleyball Toumament was held for "Back Bob's Back" waa scheduled for February 4th. Continued on Inside Page
