Pre-School Registration
Huntley Youth Takes Grand Champion
On Wednesday, August 19, Huntley Park District will be sponsoring an Open House at their pre-school, located at 1st Congregational Church in Huntley (corner of Church St. ic Main St.). Two sessions are offered for parents con¬ venience, 9:30-11:00 a.m. or 7:00-8:30 p.m. Registrations for the 87-88 school year will also be taken at this time. During the open house, you are invited to drop by to see our facility, meet the instructors and ask questions about the program. Children are invited to attend also and participate in games and arts ic crafts projects. Instructors include Connie Lombard, Mary Lynn Peterson and Candy Woodcock. Local Board of Education Meeting
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Conso¬ lidated Schools, Huntley, Illinois was held in the High School building on June 11, 1987 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by the Secretary at 7:38 p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Schadt, Mr. Freeberg, Mr. Miller, and Mr. Bauman. Absent: Mr. Heavey, Mr. Greve. All present joined in the pledge to the flag.
1. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Freeberg Znd to appoint Mrs. Schadt as Pres. Pro Tem.
5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried.
2. Mr. Miller moved, Mrs. Schadt 2nd to approve the minutes of the May 21 regular meeting as written.
5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried.
3. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to adopt the computer consultant report as the 5-year plan for District 158 and approve FY 88 and FY 89 for funding as outlined in the Source of Funds/Purchase Plan.

4. Mr. Miller moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve payment of monthly bills and imprest. Education - $37,647.29; OBM - $6,653.32; Bond & Int.-$3,268.00; Transportation - $13,452.76.

Nays: None
Pass: Schadt 4 yeas - 0 nays - 1 pass Motion carried.
5. Mr. Freeberg moved, Mrs. Schadt 2nd to approve the registration fees for 1987/88.

6. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to approve the following personnel: Employment of Verlyn Poltroch, Bus Driver, effective 1987/88 school
year; Carol Von Bosse, Summer School; Terry Awrey, Summer custodial, effective June 10 - July 31, 1987. Resignation; Theresa Faulkner, effective June 3, 1987; Gloria Evert, effective June 9, 1987; Brian Hunger, effective June 3, 1987. Change of Status: Marvie Radloff, from hourly employee of District 158 to outside contractor effective immediately.

Huntley Village Board Meeting
The July 9th, 1987 Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held in the Board Room in the Village Hall and brought to order by President Dhamer at 8:00 P.M.
Roll noted the following present: President Dhamer, Trustees Berlin, Borowicz, Basel, Brown and Greve with Trustee Wicke being absent. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Superintendent of Public Works Shear and Building Inspector Spradlin. The minutes of the special hearing of June 11th for Appropriation Ordinance and also the Regular Meeting of June 11th came before the Board for approval. Trustee Borowicz called to the Board's attention an error in the June 11th Regular Meeting minutes in that the issue of the 1987-1988 Appropriation roll should have noted Trustee Borowicz as voted aye, not nay as recorded. A motion was made by Trustee Greve, seconded by Trustee Berlin, to approve the June 11th special meeting and the June 11th Regular Meeting as corrected. Upon roll call all trustees voted aye and motion carried. Trustee Greve apolo¬ gized to the Clerk regarding minutes and misunderstandings to which the apology was accepted.
Financial reports were next on the agenda. The Treasur¬ er's Report was accepted by motion by Trustee Berlin, seconded by Trustee Brown, and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. Also, at this meeting, the Annual Treasur¬ er's Report was received.
The bills for current ex¬ penses were put before the Trustees. After examination of same, a motion was made by Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Basel, to approve of their payment. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and motion carried. The Clerk was instructed to make pay¬ ment of same and listing is attached hereto.
The William H. and Ruth C. Grismer Annexation matter was next to come before the meet¬ ing. Attorney Hardy came to the table on their behalf and filed all proper paperwork with the Clerk. He suggested to the Board that because of the objectors present for the Annexation that a special meeting be set for the pur¬ pose of hearing both sides. After discussion, a motion was made by Trustee Basel, seconded by Trustee Greve, to continue the Grismer Annexa¬ tion request to a special

Local Gymnast Makes Nationals

I iriging MGA's total to eight national team qualifiers. Augie LaBarbara, Huntley, and Erin Gaylord, Woodstock, both qualified for the National team in a Cincinatti sponsored competition on July 14.
National team members are among the top 5% of all gymnasts in the country. The gymnasts must excell in 30 tests covering strength, flexibility, skills, and techniques during the two day test period. Gymnasts se¬ lected as national team mem¬ bers will spend two weeks at specialized gymnastics camps with some of the country's top coaches, psychologists, and sports doctors in order to prepare them for higher level gymnastics. The program was developed in the USA to build a stronger Olympic gym¬ nastics base.
Both Augie and Erin compet¬ ed in the 9-10 year old divi¬ sion. This was Augie's 2nd qualification to the National team. She previously had qualified on the 8 year old squad and had to retest at higher score requirement in the older division.
Senior Citizens
Senior citizen club members met July 23 at Deicke Park for a catered picnic lunch. After lunch. President Fred Ahrens opened the meeting with the members reciting the pledge to the flag. Roll call was taken and minutes were read and approved. Treasurer Knaak gave her report which was accepted as read. The birthday song was sung for July celebrants.
A round of applause waa given Alice Rendl, who did all the "leg work" for the picnic and provided African violets for bingo prizes.
Louise Kruetzer announced a minimum of 35 people must sign up and pay $10 for the boat trip on Lake Geneva August 18th, by July 30, as advance reservations must be Continued on page 7
