She was honored at the Annual Awards Dinner held at Crystal Woods on Juty 20th. Fran is the club's secretary and president's right are. She was presented whh a "Secretary's Vase" containing-flowers and honored with a song witten for her by Carol Weirich. "Lioness of the Year" is the highest honor bestowed upon a member by the local club and Fran certainly deserves it. Village Board Minutes The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Tmsteea was held July 5, 1984 in the Board Room of the Village Hall and called to order by President Enstrom at 8:00 pm. Roll noted the foUowing present President Enstrom, Trustee Ahiens, Brown, Wkke, Berlin, Dhamer and Meroer. Abo attending the meeting were Attorney Szura, members of the Public Works Depart¬ ment, Police Chief Rossi and VUlage Collector Stub. The minutes of the June meeting were brought before the Board for their approval. There being no additions nor corrections, they stood approv¬ ed as presented. Treasurer Swanson's report, as weU as tke summary and Ccjlector's reports, were given to the Trustees for tfaeir examination and thereafter, a motion was made by Tnutee Mercer, seconded by Trustee Wi(±e, to approve of the Treasurer's Report Upon roll* caU, aU trustees voted aye and* the motion iearrled. The bills for the current month's expenses were then studied and a motion was made by Tnistee Mercer, seconded b Trustee Brown, to approve ni same and upon roU call, all trustees voted aye, tfae motior carried, and tfae Clerk Instroctci. to make payment of same. Tnistee Enstrom tfaea report¬ ed to the Board that a WlUlam CowUn, Broker, of Citulel Real Estate, Hoffman Estates, had approached Um regarding In¬ dustrial Revenue Bonds, which he was looking foi^ar construct¬ ing apartment housing at tite Plote site. AU he aaked at thl>. time was for comments of th. Beard. The-amount mentioned as S5-6,0OO,OOD. The Bowd d not comment at this time as e was to appear at the next nance meeting with his propo- I. Next the Freund Annexation Agreement was up for trustee action. ViUage Engineer then entered; the meeting. Trustee Dhamer questioned wording in #7 of the Agreement and after a lengthy diacoaslon. the 7th article was found to be "obsolete" as the item was satisfied. Therefore, Trustee Widce made a motion to adopt the Agreement as set out and seconded by Trustee Dhamer. RoU noted: Mercer, aye; Wi<4e. aye; Dhamer, aye; Ahrens, aye; Brown, aye; and Berlin, aye and the motion carried. The Bakley matter conoeming the property at the end of Cindy Jo discussed previously, was brought up. Gwen Jensen, 2nd vice presl-' dent; Lorraine Dobrolinsky, t«U-twister; Olive Staadt, trea¬ surer; Fran Borhart, secretary; Directors, May Chesak, Betty Ahrens, Marie Fettes, Bev Hartman, Dorothy SchaUer. New members are welcome. Contact one of our members if interested in our activhies. Superstars Day Don't Forget 11 Friday. Jul 13 is SUPERSTARS DAY Deieke ParkI This is a whole di< of fun and friendly competitio for kids ages 6 - 12 years old. Ribbons wUl be awarded to each category for 1st, 2nd and iri^ prizes. The person from eac category with the most points wUl be the "SUPERSTAR"! The age divisions are: 6 - 8, 9 - 10 & 11 • 12. Events wUI be: SoftbaU Throw, Horseshoes, Jump Roping, BasketbaU Free- throws and the Obstacle Course. Bring a sack lunch, drinks will be provided. The time is 10:00 - 2:30 and the fee is S3.00 each or SS.OO per famUy. Registration Day For Park Programs On Saturday, July 14, Huntley Park District wUl be having registration day for all of their second session programs in front of the Post Office from 9:00 • 12:00. Don't let summer get by without doing something constructive! Come out to the park for organized ft supervised activities! Some of the sessions being offered are: TINY TOTS for ages 3 - 5 who will experience the thriU of learning and making things on their own, as weU as working with other chUdren their age. Sessions run Mon. through Thurs. July 16 - Aug. 9, 9:30 - 11:00 and the fee is S20.00/S25.00 for non resi¬ dents of the park district which includes materials and refresh¬ ments. PUPPET CLASS for ages 5 - 10 which wiU teach diUdren about the different kinds of puppets and how to use each kind. The participants wUI make their own puppet and perform a smaU show at the end of the session. Sessions run on Mon. St Wed. 11:00 • 12:00, July 16 - Aug. 8. The fee is SIO.OO/ $12.50. ARTS ft CRAFTS for ages 5 - 10 which wiU involve several different projects which wiU be interesting to their own age group. Sessions are Tues. & Thurs. July 17 ¦ Aug. 9, 11:00 12:00. The fee is $10.00/512.50. AFTERNOON SPORTS for ages 6 - 12 and wUl consist of a different sport activity each week in which participants will Huntley Legion Traveling Team leam the fundamentals of each sport.
