COORDINATOR
The Huntley Park District has hired Mrs. Betsy Warrington as Recreation Director effective July 15. 1979. Mrs. Warrington and her husband, Larry, live on Kreutzer Road in Huntley. They have 2 children, Sally age 7 and Chad age 9 in the Huntley School.
Betsey Warrington is presi¬ dent of the Citizens Advisory Council (CAC), an active mem¬ ber of the Congregational Church and has volunteered many hours at the Huntley
Grade School.
To kick off the Park District's activities, a kids Toy Swap was held Friday, August 3rd in Deicke Park. Refreshments, toys and games were provided. Many more activities are being platmed, including a mini-mara¬ thon, so keep watching for details. Mrs. Warrington hopes to have something for everyone.

Publisher George Rom
Last Monday night. Publisher George Rom passed away following s an illness he had had for several months. George was recognized as '
Ithe oldest active newspaper publisher recently by Congressman Robert McClory, State Representative Cal Skinner Jr.. Governor^ James Thompson and Senator Jack Schaffer. He has served as the publisher ofthe Crystal Lake News for some 20 years.
George is survived by his wife. Marguerite Eustice Rom and his stepson, Dennis Quin O'Brien, Editor and Published of the Huntley Farmside Newspaper.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. on Friday at Querhammer Funeral Home in Crystal Lake.
Funeral services wfll be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First CongregStional Church in Crystal Lake. •

JOHN WELTZIEN IN RO BOWLERS TOUR
John Weltzien, Huntley's Pro Bowler placed 9th in last weeks I Waukegan Pro Bowlers open, at Bertrand Lanes. John averaged | 216 for the 42 game toumey; his Hi series was 728 and he won $1800.00. This make 11 out of the last 13 tourneys John has cashed. This week he's bowling at Buffalo, N.Y. and next week at Sarasota, Fla. which will finish the summer Pro Bowlers Tour.

LIVESTOCK BUYERS AT THE FAIR
Veteran buyers, augmented by several newcomers to the Livestock Auction help make this McHenry County Fair event a memorable highlight for dozens of 4-H and FFA young people. More than a dozen volunteers prepared and staged the auction to help recognize the superior production efforts in project work last Saturday.
Auction committee members and Fair Association officials expressed their appre< iation for the outstanding supp'>rt given these youngsters by business, industry, individual and institu¬ tional buyers and bidders.
