HUNTLEY GETS FOUR INCHES OF RAIN LAST SUNDAY
Last Sunday morning many parts oFHuntley flooded due to a huge rain storm. Many resident lost items which were housed in their basements.
The Mayor of Huntley, Don Enstrom, has asked that all residents who were flooded please make an itemized list of all the goods they lost. Also all residents should keep the damaged items for inspection with the exception of perishable items which should be photographed for inspection. There is a good possiblity that the flood victims will receive federal funds ifthey have proof of damage. The Mayor has requested that the list of damages be sent to himself or Corey Stohlquist as soon as possible.
SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158 Huntley Consolid¬ ated Schools, Huntley, III. was held in the High School Building on June 29.1978 at 7:30 pm.
The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. Pawl, Mrs, Livingston, Mr. Spears, Mrs. Brettschneid¬ er, Mr. Grismer and Mr. Zirk. Members absent Mr. Pupich..
A motion made by Mirs. Livingston and 2nd by Mrs. Pawl to approve the minutes of the June 8 meeting as written. Motion carried with 6 yea.<> and no nays.
A motion made by Mrs.; Brettschneider and 2nd b'y Mrs. Pawl to approve the tei.t book!
purchase program as presented with cuts, in the amount of $7,840.23. Mrs. Pawl, Mr, Brettschneider and Mr. Grismer voted yea. Mr. Spear voted nay. Mrs. Livingston and Mr. Zirk passed. The motion carried.
Mr. Brettschnieder moved to approve the District spanking policy as amended. The motion carried 6 yeas and no nays.
Mrs. Pawl moved to accept, the resignation of Mrs. Margar-i et Ball as Core Program Teacher! in the District and Mrs.j Livingston 2nd. The motion carried 6 yeas and no nays.
Mrs. Livingston made a motinj and Mrs. Pawl 2nd to approvej transfer for Margaret Ball to '/r time teaching position in the K-4 L.D. plus the High) School Health teachign position. The motion carried with 6 y<MS and no nays.
Mrs. Pawl moved while Mr. Brettschneider 2nd to approve
Vi time teaching postion for Mrs. Judy Keesling in the K-4 LD program. The motion carried with 6 yeas and no nays.
Mr. Brettschneider moved while Mr. Grismer 2nd the approval of Sedom Supportive Services for the 1978-79 school year. Psychologist I'/a days a week. Social Worker 1 day a week. Speech Correctionist 2 days a week. L.D. supervision 4 days a year. Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Brettschneider and Mr. Grismer voted aye. Mr. Spear and Mr. Zirk voted nay shile Mrs. Pawl passed. The motion carried.
A motion by Mr. brettschn¬ eider 2nd by Mrs. Pawl to authorize two signatures on district checks, one of which will be the District Treasurer, the other the Superintendent of the District #158. The motion carr¬ ied with 6 yeas and no nays.

Dr. Robert Bunt, newly appointed school superintendent for District #158 has begun his newly accepted duties in the Huntley School District. Following the July 4th holiday, the new superintendent met in conference sessions with his new faculty colleagues, familiarizing himself with his new responsibilities.
Dr. Bunt is 40 year old and married. He is the father of three daughters, Dacia, age 15; Valerie, age 12; and Julie, ageS. The giris will be attending Huntley schools this fall.
Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Bunt has taught school on the elementary level in Park Forest South, 80 miles from Huntley for 12 years.
Dr. Bunt was employed as a principal in the Crete-Monee School District for 9 years before coming to Huntley. He stated in an interview to the Farmside that he and his family are anxious to settle in the Huntley area as soon as their home in Park Forest is sold. His chief endeavour he hopes will be to assist with the financial and curriculum programs in the school district. He alto hopes to provide assistance to all children in both the elementary and High School level, "Pride in your school," he stated, "is a very important factor. Hopefully I can encourage each student to feel proud of his school and in his own contribution to it."
Dr. Bunt earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Western University at Macomb and his Doctorate from the University of Illinois.

THE HUNTLEY LITTLE LEAGUE ALL STAR GAME WIU BE HELD AT 8 p.m. ON SUNDAY, JULY 8 AT THE SCHOOL DUMOND.
Pictures ofthe Little League teams will appear next week with the name»of the players. This list was held up this week because ofthe holiday.
