Enrollment At Illinois State University Limited
Thinking of attending Illinois State University in the fall semester of 1988? Do you know anyone who is? The State of Illinois has issued an important reminder for students considering this university.
According to sources, Illinois State university enrolled over 22,000 students last year, an increase of 763 over the previous year. Therefore, it has become necessary for the University to control enrollment this year.
The State recommends that future students make application by Dec. 1, 1987. Freshman applications received by Dec. 1 for the fall semester of 1988 will be handled in the traditional fashion, with qualified students offered admission on a timely basis.
After Dec. 1, evaluation of freshmen applications will include additional criteria, including class rank and course work, ACT/SAT scores, and availability of space in specific academic programs or colleges. Admission of fresh¬ men will be offered on a periodic, space available, basis.
The State suggests that new students begin preparing the application now. Otherwise they run the risk of being denied admission because space is no longer available.
