LION'S CLUB HAS OPENINGS FOR QOLF PARK DISTRICT MEEHNQ The regtilar meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 8 o'clock on Wednesday, August 27, 1980. Present were Commissioners Ruth, Mercer. Weltzien, Bor¬ hart and Tures, Betsey War¬ rington, Larry Kahl, Attomey Cowlin and Mark Yurs. The minutes of the July 23rd meeting were resd. Mrs. Mercer moved to spprove the minutes, seconded by Mr. Weltzien. All ayes snd the motion carried. The Treasurer's report was given. Mr. Tures tnade a motioa to accept the report, seconded by Mr. Borhart. AU Commis¬ sioners voted aye snd the, motioncarried. The bills for the month wei« preseated. A motion to pay all bills, except Game Time, was made by Mr. Tores, seconded by Mrs. Mercer. All ayes; the motioncarried. The grounds and mainten¬ ance committee and Larry Kahl gave tbeir reports which included building progress, worfc schedule, entrance, light¬ ing, tiolets and fans. Larry asked for permission to hire Mike Kahl to help this fafl. The board agreed. President Ruth gave s touching farwell and thank you to Mark Yurs, ending his sis years of service to the park. Mark was presented with a desh dock adorned wiOi a gold cross. Firemen Kuntte aad Brown entered the meeting. Reservations must be in by Sept. 10th and can be made by calling Herb at 669-8496 or Dennis at 669-5005. The Lion sponsored golf outing b open toj the public. MEETTHE TEACHERS SEPT. 23rci A "Meet the Teachers" night is being planned for September 23 at the Huntley schools. The special night will be sponsored by the Parear Teachers Organ-i ization so that parents may get acquainted with the teachers and also that teachers may visit with the parents of their students. Jan Schadt, Preaident of the organization, made appointments to the committee to plan the program at the first meeting 'of the season on Tuesday night. Planning the program will be Uada Hofbnsn.
