Mr. Ken Bakley Sr. and Jr. and members of the Bakley family were present for the ground breaking ceremonies as was Village President James Dhamer. In attendance were Dick Klemm, Al Moltrum and Bob Morris from McHenry County Developing. A bus tour took the group through the Village of Huntley, it's subdivisions and Industrial Park. From there it was on to lunch at Crystal Woods where representatives from Century 21 and Ventura Realty gave talks on developing the general area. The proposed building will be over 65,000 sq. ft. and will employ 65 to 80 people. Boy Scout Car Wash . On Saturday, August 16th there will be a Car Wash at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parking Lot. David Jilek who is now a Life Scout will be in charge of the other Boy Scouts work¬ ing -at the Car Wash. It is part of the project he is working on, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. The money which is earned will go towards the purchase of trees to be planted at 01' Timers Park. Trees will be purchased this fall and planted under the supervision of the Park District. So everyone please come and support this worthwhile project. Everyone is sure to enjoy the trees in the park for many years to come. Car Wash will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Trinity Church parking lot. The cost is $2.50 per car. Thank you for your support. Blood Drive The Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 1986, in the Social Hall of the First Congregational Church. We know you are cur¬ ious about how your blood will be used. First, the bag is sealed and the tube divided into sections. These sections contain blood that will tested at the Blood Center lab to determine if there are any elements which might prove harmful to the patient who re¬ ceives your blood. Blood is aood for 42 days. During the next 42 days many people will need the blood you will give, and as many as three people may be helped from your pint of blood 1 In the Blood Center lab, your blood can be divided into three parts. Each part has a definite purpose. The red cells may be used during an open heart surgery, or they may be used to trans¬ fuse a newborn baby with RH disease, or they could go to some¬ one who is extremely a- nemic. Plasma, the second part, could be used to treat a burn patient or an accident victim. Leukemia patients, usually small children and young adults, need a third part of' your blood - the platelets. Your platelets may keep them alive until a cure is found. Another product of the blood is "cryo", which is made from the Continaed on Page 2
