I Shallet presented Athletic Awards to Joe 2torica and Jim Goehl from the Elgin Courier at ^b^ the Athletic Banquet.
Lovely weather graced the Memorial Day parade. The band marched to the ViU^ Square ^yiag "From thia Moment On."

The parade oontiniied from Main Street to the cemetaries.
Bob Schultz was the Master of Ceremonies. Rev. Kittie gave the invocation sayiag that we should put our &ith in Ood wIk> is the lover of concord and harmony. He wient on to say that we should remember those who fought for peace and as a nation adhere to "In God We trust." He wished health and prosperity to those in power and asked tot guidance for them to rule.
Keith Dobrolinsky, Eagle Scout, and his brother. Dean, placed the wreath at the foot ofthe flag pole. Michelle Reid did a lovely job of reciting "In Flanders Field." The High Schooi band and color guard gave an American Salute. The band played "When Johnny Comes Marching Home while the Color Guard did some spectacular drills.
The guest speaker, Clarence Keinfeldt, gave a speech on honoring the nations dead. He said that their souls go marching on because the nation is free. He said many fought fbr us and for us they fell. Let's not forget our loved ones.
Bob Schultz introduced dignitaries including Huntley mayor Don Enstrom; Union Mayor Ronald Miller; Huntley Past Commander, Don Hardy; Union Post Commander, Ken Earner; Huntley Auziliary President, Marilyn Eckman and Department Commander's Aide, Paul Breezy.
The National Anthem was played by the band and a 20 gun salute was given. Taps was done in a very effective echo fsshion.
Pastor Kittle concluded the ceremony with the benediction saying we should be the intruments of peace. He blessed the crowd.
Refreshments were served at the Legion Home.

LD MEETINQ
Last Tuesday ni^, a meet¬ ing was held at the Grade Sdiool Cafeteria for a discussion of the L.D. Program. School Board members, Mrs. Nancy Living¬ ston, Mts. Sandra Basel, Mr. Robert Ziit and Mr. James Reid were present as well as Dr. Bunt and Mr. Glowiak and several LD parents and teadiers.
The discussion b^aa with a report by Dr. Albert of SEDOM on parents rl^bts as to their child's education. Dr. Albert ezplained about the action which could be taken to guarantee a good educatioa fbr the child.
