CHARLES LAMB NAMED TO VILLAGE BOARD
F-S BEAT MOOSEHEART
Last week at the Village Board meeting. President Enstrom appointed Charlie Lamb, Village Trustee, to fill a vacancy left by Dr. Robert Frank's resignation. Charlie is well known to Huntley residents as the owner of Chuck's Barber Shop which he has operated for the past 22 years, he came to Huntley as a 6 month replacement for a barber who was going into the service and stayed. Prior to his Huntley residence, he lived in Dundee and Chicago.
During these 22 years, he has served on the School Board; Planning Commission; American Legion as Senior Vice Commander; Congregational Church as trustee and auditor. He is well known as Secretary of the Huntley Lion's Qub and past president.
Charlie has a degree as an X-Ray Technician. He is a World War II veteran where he served in the South Pacific theatre. He is a registered Republican. Charlie was nicknamed "Curly." He resides in Huntley with his wife, Frieda, a registered nurse working for Dist. 300 and a son, Lance.
When asked what he plans to do for Huntley as a board member. Charlie said that he hopes to bring about planned industrial development in the community.
Last Friday, the F-S Redskins beat the Moosehear team by a walloping 54-18 score. Coach Tichy played his first sting. Rusty Lovins, Pat Schweiger, Dale Erath, Steve Reynolds and Bob Livingston as well as Mark Knnde. Tyler Newton, Dave Hansen, Carl Michalek, Mike Smith, Tom Hight. Lovins was super on steals during the game. Erath, Reynolds and Lovins were high scorers.
Lovings made the first basket ofthe game. Dupree evened it up. Reynolds moved the Skins ahead by 2. Livingston stole while Erath scored. Lovins stole again and scored for 8-2 lead. Erath made 2 on a long shot. Mooseheart's Dupree again scored. Lovins stole and Reynolds added 2. Erath brought the Skins to 14-4. Lovins stole again.
the 2nd Quarter began with Erath bringing the score to 16-4. Schweiger and Kunde worked together on a steal. Schweiger scored on a rebound. Lovins added 2 on free throws. Mooseheart Fusek made a long shot for a 20-6 score. Lovins stole. Stallings made a free throw. Lovins added 1 on a free throw. Mooseheart Watkins scored for a 21-10 score.
The Jrd Quarter began with Erath scoring for a 23-11 lead.

CUBSOOUT PINE\A^CX)D DERBY
This past Sunday, the great Annual Pinewood Derby was held by the Cub Scouts of Huntley pack 167. It b a grand race in that each boy starts in December with a block of pinewood, wheels, and axles, and with his father, uncle or big brother, and even sometimes mothers, guidance carves the car within the specifications required by the Scouting Head¬ quarters for racing.

Then the first place winners held a run off for title of Grand Champion of the Huntley Cub Scouts 1980 Pinewood Derby. The winner being Mike Jerome.

Huntley American L^jkn. will be going onto the racing finals held at Cherry Vale Shopping Center at Rockford, Illinois during March 21, 22 and 23,1980.
The pack committee also arranges judging of the best designed car by age group and they will be announced at the traditional Blue and Gold Ban¬ quet this comming February llth. 1980, which is the SOth Anniversary of Cub Scouting and the 70th Anniversary of Boy Scouts of America.

SCHOOLBOARD MEETING
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consoli¬ dated Schools, Huntley, Illinois, was held in the High School buildmg on January 10, 1980 at 7:30 P.M.
The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. Pawl, Mr. Grismer, Mrs. Basel, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Zirk, and Mrs. Livingston. Absent: Mr. Spears.
All present joined in the Pledge to the Flag.
Mrs. Pawl moved to approve the minntes of the December 13 meeting with corrections, Mr. Pupich 2nd the motion. The motion carried with 6 yeas and 0 nays.
The President introduced a Mr. Jerry Loyet, NCA Deputy State Director who explained in detail steps toward North Cent¬ ral Association Membership. The President next recognized Mrs. Urban who presented a building rental request on behalf of the Crossroads Christ¬ ian Center. The Board request¬ ed a contract agreement to be presented at the next meeting.
The Board went into Execu¬ tive Session at 8:44 P.M. to discuss a personal matter.
The Board came out of Executive Session at 10:08 P.M.
Mrs. Pawl moved Mrs. Basel 2nd to approve payment of the Monthly bills. The motion carried with 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Zirk moved Mr. Pupich 2nd to reimburse Imprest Fund the sum of $631.27. The motion carried with 6 yeas and 0 nays.
The time being 10:29 PM Mr. Pupich moved to abandon the rules. Mrs. Livingston 2nd the motion. The motion carried with 5 yeas and 1 nay cast by Mr. Grismer.
Mr. Grismer moved Mr. Basel 2nd to approve the 'Employment of Mavis Conrad, dishwasher, $3.10 per hour, 2Vi hours per day. Effective: Jan¬ uary 2,1980. The motion carried with 6 yeas and 0 nays.
