Last Sunday, January 7, the Huntley American Legion hosted the llth District Oratorical Contest at . the High School Library with the assistance of Dr. Robert Bunt and Principal Jim Skomer. Four contestants represented McHenry, Will, Kane and OuPage Counties. Dennis Kabela, llth District Americanism Chairman, was the MC.
Each contestant gave a 8-10 minute prepared oration. The contestants and how they placed were:
1st Place - Chris Hill (DuPage£ounty) Hinsdale South H.S.
2nd Place - Jill Linstrom (Kane) Dundee H.S.
3rd Place - David Stejkowski (WUI) Bollingbrook H.S.
4th Place - John Spears (McHenry) Huntley H.S.

I he 7th St. 8th Grade Royals played Hampshire last Monday for I st in the Lion's Club Toumey. The Royals won 40-32 in an exceUent game.
