SCHOOLBOARD MEETING
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consoli¬ dated Schools, Huntley. Illioois was held in the High School building on August 12. 19S.i^ .9t, 8:37 p.m.
The President called the meeting to order at 8:37 p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. Basel, Mr. OBrien, Mr. Heavey, Mr. Reid, Mr. Pupich and Mr. Zirk.
All present joined in the pledge to the Flag.
Mr. • O'Brien moved Mrs. Basel 2nd to approve the minutes of the July 29 regular meeting as written. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mrs. Basel moved Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve the confidential minutes of the July 29 Executive Session as written. Thc motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Reid moved Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve payment of the monthly agenda of bills. Education Fund: $18,066.12; Building Fund: $3,274.11; Transporatation Fund: S265.90. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Zirk moved Mr. O'Brien 2nd to approve the Inservice Program for 1982-83. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mrs. Basel moved Mr. Reid 2nd to adopt the Legal Budget by approving the attached resolution. Budget hearing was held on August 12, 1982. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. O'Brien moved Mr. Zirk 2nd to approve the following amounts for 1982, to t>e included in the Certificate of Tax Levy, to be filed with the County Oerk.

Notice was published in the Huntley Farmside on July 29, 1982 that a hearing would be held on August 12 at 7:00 p.m. The hearing was held as scheduled on August 12, 1982. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Zirk moved Mr. O'Brien 2nd to approve the resignation of Marilyn Kunde effective August 20, 1982. The motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mrs. Basel moved Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve Re-employment of Lonni Old¬ ham Title I B28. Step 12 (Vj time) effective August 26, 1982. The motion carried with 5 yeas, 0 nays and 1 pass by Mr. Zirk.
Mr. O'Brien moved Mrs. Basel 2nd to approve employ¬ ment of Roselyn Windau, Elementary Secretary $4.50 hr. effective August 16, 1982. The motion carried with 6 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Heavey moved Mr. O'Brien 2nd to approve the following resolutions:
1. Resolved, that the Board of Education, upon the failure of Northem Illinois Roofing, Inc., Marengo, Illinois, to execute the contract to reroof the Huntley High School, within the time frame provided in the bid documents, does hereby exe¬ cute on the bid guarantee previously deposited by North¬ em Illinois Roofing, Incm the amount of $1,324.00.
2. Resolved, that the Board of Education, accepts the nego¬ tiated bid of Williams Roofing, Marengo, Illinois, the nest qualified bidder, in the amount of $14,264.00, plus $571.00 for issuance of a performance lx)nd, to provide the roofing work as specified. The motion carried 6 yeas and Ou^s.

On Friday, August 20, Huntley park ^iMrict sponsored its 3rd annual "Un-Birthday Partyl" The weather cooperated beautifuUy as 60 kids & Moms congregated at the hill shelter in Deicke Park. Funny Bones gave a great magic & comedy (?) sbowr then made baUoon animals for all the kids. Flaming lUinbow, an Aawr- ican Saddlel>red horse owned by thc Frank Hucek fiimily, recently won a championship at the 1982 IlUnois Sute Fair. The Hucek family owns a horse farm on the Huotkey-Dtindee Road at Huntley. Son David is a veterinarian and recendy open¬ ed his veterinary busiaess ia Huntley for large animals.

Ann MicheUe and Haming Rainbow have won numerous horse show championships over the past few years.
