UONS CLUB CELEBRATES 3Sth
The Huntley Lions Qub had their regular meeting Sept. 28 wdth a celebration commemorating the 3Sth anniversary of the local club. Honored guests were the First President Raymond J. Kelley and Howard Ferreira, the first secretary-Treasurer. Also included in the guest list were: District 1-J govemor Lion Maurice Pennock and Zone Chairman Lion Jim Hutchinson. Citing the past experiences of the club, Mr. Kelley and Mr. ferreira gave insight to the many projects and service to the community. Lions Eddie Meagher added to the fun experiences the club performed. President Heebie Thurow and Lion Norm Brettschneider (Chainnan of the Anniversary event) indeed thanked the former meml>ers for their appearance. S^one chairman Lion Jim Hutdiinson presented President Heebie with a special award for membership and also Lion Roger Jensen will be presented with an award for outstanding service. Fifty Lions were tuned up to this spedal event. The 3Sth anniversary cake was deliciousl Projects upcoming will be the Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 24th. The batter up signal has already t>egun special recipe for the pancake batter. The Christmas Party at the Legion in December, the annua] Chicken Batfoeque on Fathers Day in June and the International Convention in Hawaii next June. And Candy day the Sth & 9th of Oct(d>er.
President Herb called the meeitng to order by having the Pledge of Allegiance, Invocation by Lion Del Borhart. Lion Tom Crane led the group in "God Bless America" and "Oh Beantlfnl." A Uoness May Chesak at the piano. The "kitche Group" then came out to aing "Happy Birthday" for the Lions Clnb. Lkms Secretary-Treasurer Charlie Sass being Ul, Lion Den Rudsinski was aaked to perform tbe duties as recor^r. Lions'Robbie Robinson and Joe Schatter taUtwlsterl DeHdous roast pork dinner served by the Legkm Auxilaiy. Lion Del Borhart photographed fai the absence of Uoo Dennis O'Brien. On Sunday, October 24, 1982, the Huntley Lions Oub will hold their annual Pancake Breakfast at the American Legion Home, tocated in downtown Huntley, across from the Park. This is a all you can eat affair, consisting of Sausages, Eggs, and Pancakes. Orange Juice, Milk and coffee are included in the meal. The price is S3.0^ for adults and Sl.SO for children under 12. Serving will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. rain or shine.

Aid Associatioo for Lutherans Branch 191 of Trfaiity Lutheran Church. Huntley, recently partidpated in the donation and installatkm of a new sign on the Huntley school property along Route 47. This sign clearly indentifies the Huntley Schools to all who pass through our village.

The regular meeting of the Huntley Park Distrid was caUed to order at 8 p.m. on September 22, 1982. Present were Commissioners Borhart, Mer¬ cer, Tures and Jurs, LeRoy Wirsing and Attorney CowHn. Commisstoner Weltzien was absent.
The minutes of the August 25th meeting were read. Mr. Rutes made a motioa to approve the minutes, seconttod by Mr. Jurs. AU ayes and the motton carried.
The Treasurer's Report was given. Mr. Rotes moved to accept the report, seconded by Mrs. Meroer. All ayes and th etnotton earned.
