1998 National Scholastic Arts Competition Winners

The National
Scholastic Arts Regiorial Competition and
Exhibition is the largest and most prestigious com¬ petition in the nation, and for the last seven years Huntley has entered mid¬ dle and high school art work. This year, over 30 northern Illinois schools entered more than 2,000 works.
This year we chose 76 pieces, took them to Randhurst where the regional judgirig took place last week. Of the 76 pieces, 21 were accepted

The Himtley Home and Business Expo on February 21st and 22nd tops the list with a first time ever soldout/over¬ flow event!
The Expo will fea¬ ture over 90 exhibits including Del Webb with information on the new Sun City Retirement Community. The devel- oraient, along Rte. 47 and I-yQ, will boast homes for adults who want to live an active retirement. The expo is a great place to get valuable information, meet local business own¬ ers and find out where you can shop locally for all of your products and ser¬ vice needs.
The grand prize is
an overnight for two to the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin including all day ski passes to Mountain Top, a round trip hmo ride, sponsored by Travelin Wright in Crystal Lake and fresh flowers, sponsored by Huntley Floral. Other prizes included a shop-
fing spree at the Huntley actory Shops sponsored by BOSE Factory Store, London Fog, Panda Express, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Royal Doulton, The Interior Alternative, SAS Factory Shoe Store and Villa Pizza. The STAR 105.5 Rolling Radio will be at the snow on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The radio is being sponsored by     Centegra     Health
System. Free mini-semi¬ nars on a variety of topics will be featured on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also on Saturday, The Eighth Notes, a spe¬ cialty choir made up of Sophomores, Junior and Senior girls, wiU perform on Saturday from 12:00 - 12:30 p.m.
Ozzi, the Kane County Cougar's mascot will be visiting on Sunday from 12-1:30 p.m. at booth #25. Four box seat tickets to the Cougars game will be given away every half hour, sponsored by Ariano, Anderson, Hardy & CastiUo.
Stop by on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to see Bill Cavanaugh, The Ranger. He has been billed as an identical Chuck Norris look-a-Uke
and has appeared on Entertainment Tonight, American Journal and the Jenny Jones Show. Autographed photos will be available at no charge.
The expo will be held at the Elementary School South off of Rte. 47 on Mill St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. If you have any questions, call the Chamlber at 847- 669-0166.

for the Exhibition, 5 awarded a Silver Key, and one a Gold Key. This is an excellent ratio for our school, and a special honor to have both bilver Key and Gold Key win¬ ners. Our Gold Key win¬ ner, Michelle Lillibridge, will have her work sent on to New York City in May for finals.
There will be a reception honoritig these students on Feb. 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Randhurst Mall in Mt. Prospect. The arts exhibi¬ tion runs from Feb. 8 - Feb. 15. Congratulations to all who strove to produce excellent works.
