The festivities started at 2 p.m. Sunday with the presentation of flags by Huntley Cub Scouts, Jerry Roberts Jr., Cris Manley, and Brian Eisenmenger. Editor Dennis (Quin) O'Brien (now he can't talk) sang Our National Anthem, and the entire opening ceremony was quite impressive.
Don Tessmer, the Harry Carey of Huntley, announced the participating players from six traveling teams. From Huntley was larry Basel, catching all but on inning; Paul Manning, pitching a couple of shut-out innings and getting a 3 base hit for his team; Rex Hahn, playing second base and pitching one inning; Chris Seiler, playing third base and Huntley Coach Dick Erath with his helper. Pictured above is Miss Huntley. Terri Ream, as she participated in the Miss McHenry County Preliminaries last Wednesday at the Old Courthouse. The program was hosted by Photographer Don Peasley and MCed by Van Sells.
Also attending from Huntley were Lion Dan Ziller, former Miss Huntley. Cindy Jacobs and Beckie Harm, former Miss Huntley and Miss Carpentersville.
Evening gown and swim suit judging were the highlights of the evening at least for many of the men in the audience. Terri made all Huntley residents proud with her presentation,
score of 12 to 3. Behind the plate, the entire game was His Honor, Mayor Don Enstrom, red faced, probably sweating and obviously enjoying every minute.
The second game ofthe doubleheader consisted of three players off each city league team, twelve for the American and twelve for the National League. Don Tessmer announced the player»and they lined up down the baselines,
