Past District Governor Erv Deuchler of Dundee was the installing officer. Officers for the year 1980-81 in the Huntley Lioness Club are President - Gail Hayes, 1st Vice President - Dorothy Schaller, 2nd Vice President - Bobbie Tessmer, 3rd Vice President - Helga Roth, Treasurer - Karen Kohley, Tailtwister - Bev Hartmann, Directors - Dorothy Dammyer, Arlene and Betty Mattingly and Frieda Lamb and immediate Past Pres. Carol Weirich. The new officers in the Huntley Lions Club are President - Norm Brettschneider, 1st Vice Prevdent - Dick Kohley, 2nd Vice President - Dick Seiler, 3rd Vice President - Don Kohley, Tamer - Chas. Dammyer, Tailtwisters - Heebie Thurow and Joe Schaller. Directors - Charles Ruth. Will Brill, Dennis Rudsinski and Elmer Britton, Secretary-Treasurer - Charlie Sass and Immediate Past President - Jim Weirich. Lion Erv Deuchler stressed the importance of each office and the duties. Lion Charlie Lamb received a very special plaque for his 8 years as Secretary-Treasurer and thanked the group for this high honor. A standing ovation was given to Charlie or Chuck as the group sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow." those attending the event were Messers and Mesdames: Del Borhart, Barry Borchart, Nomi Brettschneider, Elmer Britton, Bob Craven, Charles Dammyer, Mel Ewert, Pat Freeman, Ed Hartmann, Ed Hayes, Lee Hennig. Bob Hight, Bill Keams, Dick Continued on Back Page HOOLA HOOP & LION'S CLUB FRISBEE CONTEST BARBEQUE JUNE 21 THIS SUNDAY On Saturday, June 21, the Huntley Park District will be sponsoring the chaUenge of the summerl You won't want to miss the "Hoola-Hoop k Frisbee Contest" held at 1:00 at Deicke Park. There will be prizes for the person who can keep the hoola hoop going the longest, the trickiest hoola- hooper, the farthest frisbee throw, the one who catches the frisbee tbe most times, the tri<^ies friesbee catdi and many othersi Bring your hoola-hoops and frisbees and plan to have a great timel - Lips are smacking and tummies are anxiously awaiting a finger licking, scrumptious meal. Who can resist baked beans, cole slaw, rolls and bomemade pie to go along with a special recipe chicken dinner? Food to delight the man of the hour, Dad, on Father's Day. And where can you find such a meal that is fit for a King? There is only one place • the Lion^s Club Chicken Barbeque. This Sunday is the day at the American Legion or if you prefer as ontdoor setting, there will be tables at the downtown park. VI LLAGE BOARD MINUTES MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING DF THE VILLAGE BOARD OFTRUSTEES The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was brought to order by President Enstrom at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 1980, in the Board Room ofthe Village Hall. Roll noted the following present: President Enstrom, Trustees Wicke, Rudsinski, Dhamer, Stroupe, Lamb and Mercer. Also attending were Village Attorney Szura and Village Engineer Schwegel, as well as members of the public works department. The minutes of the second, required public hearing for Federal Revenue Sharing Funds and the minutes of the Regular Meeting, both held May 1, 1960, were brought to the Board for approval. There being no addltkas nor corrections, they stood ^>proved as presented. The Treasurer's Reports were thenext item to come t>efore the Board. Tmstee Stroupe made a motion, seconded by Trustee Lamb, to approve of the May, 1980 Treasurer's Report and upon toll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. Linda has been active in 4-H for the past 8 years showing at the McHenry County Fair each year also. She is a 2 year member of the Huntley FFA Chapter; a Youth Council Representative for the oounty 4-H Federantion and recently won the National 4-H Dairy Conference Award which entitles her to a free trip at the World Dairy Expo in Sept at Madison, Wise. She is a past president of the fHk- Continued on Page 5 BARB REYNOLDS MISS HUNTLEY IN MILK DAY Pictured above is Barb Reynolds. Miss Huntley in the Harvard Milk Day Parade last Sunday, June 8. Barb was chosen Miss Huntley last April in Harvard where she competed with Cheryl Schuld for the title. Barb, a pert blonde, graduated from Huntley High School this year. She is well known for her singing abilities. As a member pf the Swing Choir and High School Chorus for 4 years, she took six - lst Place medals in Solo k Ensemble Contests. She also had one of the TRINITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL TRINITY'S VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be held next week, June 15th through Friday, June 20th, 9 am - 11:30 am. ALL children of the area, 3yrs. through grade 6., are WELCOME to attend. THERE IS NO COST. Come and be a part of "God's Happy People" which is our theme f6r this year, we'll spend our time doing handicrafts, singing songs, playing games, and hearing Bible stories.
