let's Help "Angie" Figlit for Life
We're sure you are all aware of the numerous people who are in need of liver transplants throughout the area and United States.
Now, we have a 19 year old girl from Huntley, desperately fighting for life and very much in need of financial help and any other help that we can give her, her mother and her family. Can we help Angie?
A ftmd has been established at the State Bank of Huntley by the Huntley Lioness Qub, to help vidth expenses for her.
Angie is back in Sherman Hospital again, facing another set back. Word is out for a liver transplant and only time will tell. Meanwhile, can we all join in a community project and give her our support!
Let's get those donations going, through our various clubs, organizations, school groups,   business   associates
and friends. Many of us have helped other area people through donations, etc. Now she is one from our own village.
Angie Korotasz graduated from Huntley High School in 1984, vibrant and active as much as she could be in school activities. Her disease is CHRONIC VIRAL HEPATI¬ TIS. V/ith this, she has been unable to get any insurance and is unable to work. More fund raisers are in the process for a community project, but right now we need your help, for Angie!

H^nnoal Town Meeting Held
Less than 50 people attended the Annual Town Meeting last Tuesday night, April 9th at the Grafton Township Garage. Jack Brunschon was the appointed moderator and his wife, Virginia, was secretary for the meeting. The minutes from last years Town Meeting were read and approved and the Township Garage was fixed at the place to hold the 1986 Town Meeting on the second Tuesday in April at 8 pm.
The next item on the* agenda was to approve Herb Franks as Township Attomey. Mr. Franks
has served as Grafton Township Attomey for 25 years at an annual retainer of $1000. Supervisor Ruth, stated that the agreement with the law firm was that Mr. Franks would attend meeting when the township requested him to. Moderator Brunschon made a motion that Mike Kukla be appointed as Township Attomey at a retainer of $1500 a year. It was noted that Mr. Kukla was the attomey for LEAC, an organization which successfully opposed the proposed landfill, 2 miles north of Huntley on Route
47. It was brought out that Mr. Kukla is also the attomey for the Huntley Fire Protection District which meets at the same time as the Township Board. Mr. Brunschon's motion was amended by Trustee Ketchmark to negotiate with Mr. Kukla on the retainer and make an arrangement with him to attend the meetings only when called. The motion carried and the voters of Grafton Township approved Mike Kukla as Township Attomey.
The voters approved Kal- duesek & Cohen as Township Auditors.
The next item on the agenda was to approve the Huntley Farmside as the official township newspaper. Several residents from the Crystal Lake area asked why the Crystal Lake Herald should not be the official newspaper or the co-official newspaper with the Huntley Farmside. Supervisor Ruth stated that the cost of publishing all of the legal notices in both the newspapers would be too great an amount. He stated that one notice alone cost over $500. Mr. Ruth said that the legal notices had to be published in a paper of general circulation in the Township. A resident from Crystal Lake asked which of the two newspapers had the greater general circulation in the Township. Quin O'Brien, editor of the Huntley Farmside Newspaper asked to address this question. He stated that both the Crystal Lake Herald and the Farmside had general circulation in Grafton Township. He continued that the Chicago Tribune also had fine general circulation in the township. He said, however, Illinois State Law states that legal notices have to be printed in a newspaper that is published in the township. He continued that the Huntley Fannside was the only news¬ paper published in Grafton Township and met all legal specifications. The lady from Crystal Lake asked why the notices of meetings were not published in the Herald. Clerk Enstrom stated that the Herald has been sent the notices but they haven't been published. The Huntley Farmside was approved by unanimous vote as the official newspaper for Grafton Township.
The next item of business was to approve the State Bank of Huntley and the First National Bank of Marengo as depositor¬ ies. Supervisor Ruth was asked why not only the State Bank of Huntley as depository. Mr. Ruth said that the State Bank of Huntley was used for convience and the reason why the First National Bank of Marengo was used because they offer 30 day CD's at an interest rate of 8.5%. James C. Dhamer
James Dhamer w^s selected Village President last Thursday, April 4th at the regular meeting of the Village Board by a ' 'Flip of a Coin". Dhamer and incumbant Mayor Don Enstrom tied in the April 2nd election with 262 votes each. The Village Presidency was decided by a flip of a coin tossed by Art Wicke, Trustee on the Village Board. Mr. Enstrom declined the call and Mr. Dhamer called Heads. The coin landed "HEADS UP".
President Enstrom served as Mayor for 13 years and was on the board 11 years prior to that time for a total of 24 years. He replaced Wilpault Brill as president in 1972 when the former Mayor moved out of the Village Limits.
Newly elected President Dhamer has served on the Village Board for many years and other civic committees.
