UON'S CLUB INSTALLATION
St. Mary's Parish is planning an Open House on Sunday, June' Sth to honor their pastor, Father L. Dudley Day. He is celebrating the SOth year of his ordination to the priesthood. He has been pastor of St. Mary's parish for thirty-nine years.
Father Day will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at 12:00 P.M.This will be followed by an Open House at the American Legion Home on Woodstock and Coral STreets, Huntley. The reception will begin with a short program at 1:30 P.M. and continue to 4:00 P. M. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Father Day was bom in Chicago on March 5, 1902. He was ordained on June 5, 1927 at Quigley Chapel in Chicago by the Most Reverend Edwar F. Hoban, D.D. He served as associate pastor at St. Joseph, Harvard; St. Peter, Rockford; St. Mary, Freeport and St. Ann, Dixon. His first appointment as pastor was at St. Mary in Morrison, Illinois from 1936 to 1938. He was appointed pastor of St. Mary, Huntley on July 22, 1938.

On Sunday, May 1st, St. Mary's Catholic Church held First Communion Sunday. 19 Children received communion for the first time from Father L.D. Day, pastor of St. Mary's. Pictured above are several scenes from the special Sunday.

The Huntley Lions Club held their Installation of Officers and 30th Birthday Saturday May 7, at the Cloven Hoof in Marengo. Deputy District Governor George W. Abbamonto of Cary was installing officer.
Installed were: Charles W. Ruth, President, Vice Pres: Dennis Rudsinski, 2nd Vice Pres: Jim Weirich, 3rd Vice Pres: Mel Johnson.Directors: Del Borhart, Elden Pfaff, Eddie Meagher, Mel Ewert, Lion Tamer: Dick Kohley, Tailtwisters: Dick Seiler & Dave Kosmen, Sec-Treas: Chuck Lamb.

Remoter, this is a "Special" Pbppy Day at the schools only. 1 ^have faith is the fact that our young people wish to remember our Veterans and wish to contribut to their needs.

¦ On Saturday. May 21st. the Huntley area Jaycees. will be giving away free sand for sandboxes again this year. Anyone interested in receiving sand should write or call Tom Jurs at 669-3232.
CARNIVAL
The Huntley area Jaycee's and Skinners Amusements of Crystal Lake will be having a carnival on as the single member belonging the square. May 13,15 & 15. for 30 years and its only charter There will be rides.games, and member. Lion Tom Swanson was refreshments for everyone and a recognized as a orginal member, special matinee for the children but resigned and was reinstated on Saturday afternoon from 2-5 as a new member later. pm.

SWINGING HIGH
Huntley High's first musical play "Swinging High" will be perofrmed Friday. May 20th at 8700 in the Grade school gym. The band and chorus are working together to present a musical comedy about a High Schod and every thing that comes with it -
