Mhii Track and Trailer On Display At State Banlc
V/ay,"." Miller, president of the State Bank of Huntley is shown placing Uie first donation in the Convoy Mini-Track and Trailer now on display at ths bank. With him is Don Mueller of Huntiey. All proceeds from this "fundraiser on wheels" will be used to purchase equipment for the Huntley Music and Sports programs. RafSe tickets to win the Mini-Track unit will soon be available fbr purchase.
When Don and Ann Mueller of Huntley discovered that the Huntley Marching Band did not have a banner to identify their, band with when marching, they decided to do something alwut it. And, with the help of the Huntley business community the Huntley Marching Band next year will have its banner....and a lot more!
Don Mueller is the owner of Convoy, Inc. of Crystal Lake which manufactures miniature semi-tractors and trailers. His firm has worked with several fund raising groups in the pa$t on very successful fundraisers.
During the last month Don has used this same fund raising plan in Huntley and has raised over $15(K) for the Huntley Music and Sports programs. In addition to this a Convoy Mini-track and gravel trailer will now be raffled and the funds raised from this will also be donated to the Huntley Music and Sprots. programs.
To date the monies raised for the progrsms are the result of sponsorships pnrchased by local business and merchants. A portion of these sponsorships went toward acquiring the mini-track and trailer. Each sponsor has an attractive arf
lettered on either the mini-track or trailer. Because Don donated his time he was able to raise over $1S(X) over and t>eyound the cost of the mini-track unit.
In the near future raffle tickets on the Mini-track and trailer will be available for purchase. One hundred per cent of the proceeds raised through the sale of the tickets and collected in the donation box in the trailer will go towards the purchase of needed equipment for both the music and sports programs in Huntley.
In the meantime the mini- track and trailer will be on display at the State Bank of Huntley. Over the next several months the Mini-track unit will be on display at various locations and at school activi¬ ties. There Is a donation slot in the gravel trailer for anyone wishing to donate towards the music and sports programs. Checks should be made out to Huntley Music and Sports Programs Fund.
A big thank you goes out to those who have supported this fund raising project so far: State Bank of Huntley, Yaze! Cartage, Meyer Material, B ScB Service, Village Inn, Huntley Ready Mix, Mona's Place, DFC
