GrAFTONtownshipsOFFICULNEWSPAPER — SINCE J960 USPS 580-366' VOLUME 20-NUMBER 38 THURSDAY, DECEMBER 25,1980 Pbboe 669-5621 28 PAGES SEBVING THE PEOPLE OFHUWTLBY SINCE 1960 ' STATE BANK GIVES BOOK TO THE HUNTLEY HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY Last Friday, December 19, 1980, Betty Ahrens, Vice President of the State Bank of Huntley, presented Dr. Robert Bunt, superintendent of Huntley schools and Dan Keams, High school librarian with a leather bound library book enthled, ' 'The History of Sports." The State Bank annually donates a book to the library. Past books have been immensly enjoyed by students and the faculty. REDSKIN VARSITY BEAT HAMPSI The Huntley Redskin Varsity Team played the Hampshire Whippurs in an excellent away game last Saturday winning 62-52. The Skuis played with superior poise and teamwork. Coach Delaney did an excellent job of coaching, many times slowing the playing down to an even pace. The Skins played a Consistently good game throughout. The Skins took an early lead and held it throughout the CONTINUED ON PAGE 6 26th meeting were read. Mr. game. PARK DISTRICT MEETING The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order by President Ruth at 8 o'clock on Wednesday, Decem¬ ber 17, 1980. Present were Commissioners Ruth, Tures and Weltzien and Attomey Cowlin. Commissioners Mercer and Borhart were absent. The minutes of the November Tures moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Weltzine. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. The Treasurer's Report was reviewed. A motion to accept the report was made by Mr. Ruth, seconded by Mr. Tures. All Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. The team will now be playing in the Marengo Tournament during the Holiday season. They are: Back row, left to right, Joe Gow, Bill Weirich, Tom Hight. Bob . Livingston, Brett Barrett, Pat Schweiger Front row, left to right, Carl Michalek, Dave Seaver, Dale Erath, Tony Hopp, Dave Livingston, Dave Sdiachtner, Jim Goehl, Scott Nepennan and Coach Glen Delaney. SENIORS HOLD THEIR CHRISTMAS PINNER Last Thursday, the Huntley Senior Citizens held ibdr aanuall Christmaa Party at the 1st Congregational Church of Hontiey.
