Hctured above is the new "lioness of the Year", Olive Staam, who received her award from committee Chairman, Carol Weirich, atthe Awards Dinner held June 19. Olive is Lioness Treasurer, and has done one bang-up job. The "Lioness ofthe Year" is the highest honor given by the local club.
Chairman of the "Lioness of the Year" committee, Carol Weirich, was the clubs Charter President and its first "Lioness of the Year." Others honored in the past include May Chesak, Karen Kohley and Francis Borhart.

Wednesday, June 19th, the Huntley lioness Club held their annual awards dinner at Bill's Village Inn Banquet Hall hi Huntley. This dinner is held every year in June aa the presidents last official meeting befiore the new officers take over July 1. It gives the opportunity to tfae outgoing president to thank all her Uoness Officers and diaiimen who woriced so hard througlioat tfae year and give out attendance pins and other gifts.

Under your leadership, the Huntiey Lioness Qub had a fuU year of activities and charitable works.
Our Scholarship Fund provid¬ ed SaCtO.OG for two Huntiey High School stMdents^to ftetfeer tliek education.
Our Bingo, Sight and Soimd, aad Charitable accounts contrib¬ uted toward a blind diiid in Bensenville; established a fund for a Huntley gjri who needa a liver transf^ant; assisted in a study on local waate disposal (LEAQ; provided funds for a reading program for a local idiild; joined our Huntley Lions Club hi stoddng food baskets for local families; contributed to the Huntley Giri Scoots and to the i Huntley American Legion; and sent two Hontiey ED^ Sdiool i senion to Giris State.
We had Hontiey lioness Rns ,made fat proodly wearing and/or tradbg at the Conven¬ tions, and oor fint Bingo Wmken' Party (9-19-84) was held at John Evans Ins.
Kids' Piaydays (11-23-84 aad 3-22-85) and the Senk» Citizen Party (12-13-84) at tiie Hontiey Legion Hall oontinoed to be soccessful aad well attended^
There was an active Scfaolar¬ afaip RafQe (5-85) to take care of tiie F8ll'85; and Caramel Com Day (5-3-85) was well worked by the Lioness members. We contribated $768 to the Lions of nihiois Foundation.
Our Hearing Aid Battery sales continue to help our local people obtain their batteries at cost.
The Lion-Lioness Installation (5-11-85) and the Miss Huntiey Pageant (6-9-85) with four beautiful entrants, were han¬ dled tastefully, were well organized and well attended.
We straggled tfaroogfa a period of low fonds wherein we dianged oor dieddng accounts to non-interest (service diarge waived) acooonta, aad becaose of earefol finaadal plaaalng aad very carefU speac&ig we have become mote solvent.

A board meeting was held before the dinner at wfaidi time tfae Huntiey Lioness voted to buy a new Aodfometer for the Huntiey School Distrid. This contribotion waa made possible by proceeds from Caramel Com Day. A percentage of these funds are sent to tfae lions of Illinois Foondation and tfae remainer aUows tfae Lioness to fiind "Si^t and Sound Projeds."
