MAZIE BLOTT HONORED FOR HER YEARS OF NEWSPAPER WRITING
Last Tttursday, Novenit>er 17, a surprise party was lieid 1 Biott at tiie Huntley Walk-in Center. Mazie waa lionored for iier 17' years of writing a social column for ttie Huntley Farmside Newspaper.
Mazie received a caite wliicli was decorated in tiie form of a Huntley Farmside front page made by Mrs. Rutii Scliultze, walk-in «^nter director. The cake was donated by Mrs. Gwen Reed and presented to Mazie following the "Meet & Eat" luncheon.
After bringing happiness to many people for many years, Mazie was forced to give up her column because of her failing eyesight. Many resdients have felt the loss of her column and of her calls.
IT'S ROUNDUP TIME IN
HUNTLEY
Last Sunday morning shortly after 7 am, a flock of turkeys mvaded Huntiey. They were smi running up and down the streets. The police were first notified that these birds at large were peacocks by a caller because one of them had a green front.
What resembled a Western Roundup took place next with several residents surrounding the variments trying to nin them into ichallers garage. A couple of the culprits escaped capture. Who knows who »tablfe they wiU end up on since they were not branded
The tnsky birds came from the Drafall farm.

There will be two guest speakers.
Any young men between the ages

FERE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE
Last Wednesday, November 16th, tiie Huntley Hre Department held its annual Open House. The Open House is held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week. This j'ear it was somewhat later due to the inaccessabiiity of films.
A small crowd attended the informative evening. Life saving techniques were taught as well as fire prevention measures. The department proudly displayed their new pumper. As Ctiief Freund explained one of the older pumpers was over 25 years old and due to insurance regulations and premiums had to be put to pasture.
The Paramedics and firemen were on hand to ekplain ail new and old equipment. Refreshments were served.
MeHENRY SAVINGS & LOAN IS OPEN
The new Huntley office of McHenry Savings and Loan Ass¬ ociation has opened its doors in the Huntley Market Shopping center on Highway 47.
Located at the north end of the center, McHenry Savings' office will provide residents of the greater Huntley aea with comp¬ lete savings and loan services. Parking vnd drive-up window facilities are offered.

SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #1S8 Huntley Consolidat¬ ed Schools, Huntley, Illinois was called to otdtt by President Mrs. Livingston at 7r30 p.m. in the ifigh Scfaod Library.
Members present were Mrs. Livingston/Mrs. pawl, Mr. Pup¬ ich and Mr. Brettschneider.
Mr. Brettschneider was app¬ ointed Sec. Protem.
A motion by Mrs. Pawl second by Mr. Pupich to approve of the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried 4 yeas.
A motion by Mr. Pupich sec¬ onded by Mrs. Pawl to pay the bills with the exception of the bill to Altoff's for fixing sewage pump.
Motion carried everyone present voted yea.
A motion by Mr. Pupich to transfer SI.164.60 from Educat¬ ion Fund to Imprest Fund was seconded by President Livingston Montion carried 4 yeas.
Committee Reports - Mr. Ma¬ rks reported on the progress of the gym roof.
Mrs. Pawl reported on the work being done on the lift station pump. Following a long discuss¬ ion Mrs. Pawl moved to pay Altoff's for the work being done on the Hft station. The motion was seconded by Mr. Pupich. The motion carried with 4 yeas.
Mr. Grismer arrived at 7:50 p.m.
Mary Peterson and Chris Foes- ter made a request of the board to have Mr. Kahl as Jr. High Volleyball coach.
There was no old business.
Under new business the board gave an approval for a three day trip for the Senior Qass.
A motion made by Mr. Pupich, seconded by Mrs. Pawl to accept negotiated contract with the Hun¬ tley Ed. Assoc, as presented. AU members voted yea. Mr. Puftich thatikcd all persons involved in the negotiations.
Mrs. Livingston read a letter from the lions Cub thanking the board for the use of school fsdUties for the pancake break¬ fast.
