March/April: Busy Months For Scouts
The months of March and April proved very busy for the Scouts of Troop 167. Cold weather, sleet, rain and 60mph winds did not stop us from camping in Starved Rock State Park, located in Utica, II. The trip was held the weekend of March 18-20, 1988.
Scouts Dan McLaughlin, Keith Brown, Paul Krush, Erich ic Jeff Nied and myself all took part in a weekend filled with fun. Wc were accompanied by Scoutmaster Keith Dobrolinsky and his Assistant Scoutmaster David Jilek.
The weekend was spent learning about the Lock and Dam System on the Illinois River, the geology of the Park and a whole lot more. Some scouts even tackled climbing cliffs ranging from 75 to 100 feet using proper climbing techniques. Although we all starved, we had a chance to test our cooking skills by patrol. My patrol happened to have the best prepared dinner of sausage and saur bratten.
Overall, a good time was had by all. Hopefully next time it will be a bit warmer, some 50 or so degrees would be nicel

Pre-School Outing
The Huntley Park District Pre-school went on an interesting field trip on Thursday, April 14th.
The pre-school visited one of its students' farm. There
they saw many sheep and some new baby lambs that the Schultz family raises.
From there, they proceeded onto the Miller Dairy Farm for a view of their dairy cows and calves, and topped
off with some great chocolate milk for a quick treat.
The entire pre-school class wishes to thank both the Schultz and Miller families for the delightful time which they had at the farms.

American Legion Auxilary
Hello Auxilary members. I know you are out there somewhere, don't hide, show yourself. Out of about 126 Seniors and some 26 Juniors to have only 6 or 6 show at the meetings is kind of discouraging. A nominating committee was elected last meeting, if you want changes, you tell us, we need to make a decision, a change only comes about if you do something about it. It's not that hard, it's not that involved, if there is a majority the majority rules. Maybe you think it's not important and it will go on without you, well five decisions on passing a motion is better than none.
I've heard some of you say.
We used to do this and we
used to do that, but not any Continued on page 14
