JACK FROST DANCE
Do your have the after Christmas Blues? Then come to the Jack Frost Dance on January 23. 1982 at the Huntley American Legion. There will be dancing, refreshments and door prizes for only S3.00 per person (on one under 18).
All proceeds will go to help the Huntley 6th graders attend the three day Atwood Outdoor Recreation Ptogram near Rock¬ ford. Come out and have a good time and beat the after Christmas let down.
DISTRICT 158 WINS ROOF SUIT
Damages in the amount of S49,000, plus additional legal fees to be determined, have been awarded to District 158 by a Three - judge arbitration panel. The case arose in 1979 when the original roof over the high school gym had to be. replaced due to continual leaking problems.
After exhausting all avenues to correct the problem with the original general contractor during a two year period 1976 to 1978. the district finally had to resori to completely tearing off the defective roof and replacing it with a new one, at a cost of $87,000.
In 1979, the district filed suit against the general contractor in an attempt to recover the costs of replacing the defective roof and any related legal fees. After numerous delays, the case was heard in Chicago during the summer of 1981. The law firm of Bridges, Riseborough, Morris, Franke and Miller presented arguments on behalf of the school district.
