Here is a collection of stories about Howard Ruth. He brought a great deal of humor, which made him dear to many of Huntley residents and friends.
Howard as SCHOOL LUNCH MENU
2/14-18/77 Monday
Hamburgers on bun, catsup and mustard, buttered green beans, potato chips, rice krispie bars, and milk. Tuesday
Spaghetti w/meat sauce, tos¬ sed lettuce and carrot salad, buttered bread, assorted fruit, and milk. Wednesday
Chicken soup w/crackers, tur¬ key sandwiches, cottage cheese
the Halloween Party MC and sliced peaches, and milk. Thursday
Tacos or peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, fruit cocktail w/bananas, and milk. Friday
Tuna and noodle casserole, buttered peas, buttered bread, homdmade cookies, and milk.
In 1955, Howard, Max Bundgard and Timer Bal^eiy went hunting up north. One of the Indians had shot a moose about a weei( earlier and was going to move It to their village by cutting It up Into sebtlons. Since the threesome didn't have anything better to do, they decided to help.
Howard thought it was a good Idea. He and Max got a 9 foot pole and tied part of the moose to It. They then started on their 2 mile hike. Max thought that his end was pretty heavy but Ignored his /feelings.
After they had been home about a month Howard Invited Max over to see the film of their hunting trip taken by Timer.
Much to Max's surprise, there was hloward holding his end of the pole with his little pinky, while the nrxxne was 5 inches from Max's
