Augie recently competed in her first qualifying gymnastic meet. She placed 6th in the Balance Beam and 11th in the overall competi¬ tion and qualified for the state meet to be held in Springfield the first weekend in February. Augie, a third grader at Huntley Elementary School, trains at the Woodstock Academy of Gymnastics. Her coach is Betty Hamilton. Board of Education Meeting The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Conso¬ lidated Schools, Huntley, Illinois was held in the High School building on Dec. 18, 1986 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order by the Secretary at 7:40 p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. Schadt, Mr. Greve, Mr. Bauman. Absent: Mr. Heavey, Mr. Freeberg, Mr. Miller. All present joined in the pledge to the flag. 1. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to appoint Mrs. Schadt as Pres. Pro Tem. 4 yeas - 0 nays Motion caried. 2. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the November 20th regular meeting as written. 4 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 3. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mrs. Schadt 2nd to approve the minutes of the November 20 executive session as written. 4 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 4. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to approve payment of the monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $24,923.05; Building - $7,120.12; Bond ic Interest - $106,450.00; Transportation - $1,256.14; L/S Construction - $5,885.20. Yeas: Greve, McDonald, Schadt Nays: None Pass: Bauman 5. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to approve the resolution to allocate CPPR tax distributions. Yeas: Bauman, Greve, Schadt, McDonald Nays: None Motion carried. Continued on page 9 The Illinois State Board of Education has accepted the recommendation of the McHenry County Reorganization Committee that Huntley School District #158 not be consoli¬ dated at this time. District #158 will continue as an independent system serving the Huntley area. This decision comes after a year of concentrated efforts and in the face of a strong movement in Illinois toward consolidating small school Districts into larger Districts. Mr. William Eisenmenger was the representative from Huntley. Huntley Seniors Thursday is the day the Huntley area seniors meet. Jan. 22nd (the 4th Thursday) is Senior Club Day with a pot luck at noon. The group meets in the Social Hall of the First Congregational Church which is located at the corner of Church St. and Main St. in Huntley. The other Thursdays of the month are reserved for Meet and Eat. Louise Kreutzer, director, along with her helpers, cooks a nourishing lunch for the Seniors. Reservation are requested for Meet and Eat. Call Doris Ball 669-5012 or Nancy Grimes 669-5892. Funding for this endeavor is provided by Revenue sharing funds from Grafton Township and the Village of Huntley. The group has funds for approximately a year. The future however, is uncertain since revenue sharing funds have been discontinued through the federal government. It was most recently used as a creft and re-sale shop, and before that was a Laundramat. The building is being remodedeled into an office building. Shown above are Westem Roofing Co. Workers replacing the roof. Village Board Meeting The Regular Meeting was held on January 8, 1987 in the Board Room of the Village Hall and brought to order by President Dhamer at 8:06 P.M. Roll noted the following present: President Dhamer, Trustees Ahrens, Russ, Wicke, Brown, Basel and Berlin. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel, Police Chief Rossi, Superintendent of Public Works Shear and Building Inspector Spradlin. The minutes of the December 4, 1986 meeting were the first order of business and there being no additions nor corrections they stood ap¬ proved as presented. Financial Reports for December, 1986 were dis¬ cussed. Trustee Wicke made a motion to approve the Treasurer's Report as sub¬ mitted seconded by Trustee Russ and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. The bill review was next on the agenda. President Dhamer announced that there were three special invoices which needed Board attention: 1) Curran Contracting balance owing on the Bonnie Brae street project of $1,000.00. Trustee Wicke made a motion to approve the $1,000.00 payment to be paid from the Road and Bridge Fund, seconded by Trustee Brown, and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. 2) Balance of $514.43 owing Baxter and Woodman on the 1986 Street Maintenance project to be paid from Motor Fuel Tax. No action required. 3) The transfer of the Automatic Control Services' Invoice #3605 in the amount of $700.00 from Segregated Fund, Capital Improvement category, to Sewer and Water Operating, thereafter a motion was made by Trustee Basel, seconded by Trustee Ahrens, to authorize this transfer and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. At this point, the bill review was completed and a motion was made by Trustee Berlin, seconded by Trustee Brown, to make payment of those submitted (listing attached hereto), and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye, and the motion carried. President Dhamer then called on Ms. Nancy Braun of the McHenry County Housing Authority. She told the Board that her Authority intended to expand Green Trees Housing by 16 units. The need was there in McHenry County and they had applied to F H A for funding. She asked the Board to authorize the President to forward a letter to the Continued on page 11
