HUNTLEY  BOY  SCOUTS   IN GALENA PARADE
PASTOR HARM LEAVING TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH
Last Saturday, April 29, Galena, Illinois hosted the Annual Scout? Parade where Cub Scouts, Giri Scouts, Boy Scouts and Brownies | compete for honors.  This year the parade took on a new look with '' four marching bands from Galena and Dubuque High Schools livening up the procession. Galena's Drum & Bugle Corp displayed their precision marching to music.
This year's parade was lead by Senator Charies Percy riding with the Mayor of Galena. As in the past. General Grant and his aides were at the head of the column. Continued

On Monday evening, 8 p.m.. May 1,1978, an induction ceremony was held at the Huntley High School honoring 12 students. The 12 have maintained a scholastic average of 3.5 and above, excelled in leadership qualities and have maintained their high academic achievement throughout the year. Each was elected to the National Honor Society by fellow classmates and school faculty. High School students elected into the Honor Society were :

The museum wi!l b^: open from I: '.0 to 4:00. Sunday aftemoot .May Tth is Huntley D&y at the museum. This is an idea that originated with our own Wm. H. (Mr. Pat) Williams. Each city or Village in the county is to have their own day at themuseum this year.
You will hear the very entertaining swing Choir from Huntley Schools. They will be wearing their new outfits, and will be directed by the very popular vocal director Luann Lamz. It is hoped that the Huntley Senior Citizens Band will be able to be with us. This youth group from the Village have been appearing and entertaining people in the County this Spring.
Father Day, Rev. Harm, Rev. Mealiff, Mayor Mr. Don, Supervisor Ruth and County Board Member Marlowe have been invited. These gentlemen who are so vital and intertwined in the happenings of our friendly Village have been asked to appear on the podium.

One of the features of the opening will be a display of old cars by four business men of Huntley. The oldest car will be a 1915 Baby Grand Chevrolet touring car shown by Ben Hansford. Mr. Hansford will also have on display his 1949 Style Line Chevrolet four door Sedan. The next oldest car will be shown by Elmer Britton. He has a 1922 model T Ford roadster, and a 1928 Chevrolet two door coupe. Thomas Conley Jr. will be showing his Model A 1928 Ford Sedan. Phil Freund is not only driving over his two antique cars. He is also bringing over three of his antique tractors. They will be hauled over on a Low Boy Truck, so they will be easy to see. He says that James Martines will probably have one of them running. Phil will also have on display his 1928 Intemational six speed wagon and his 1929 Ford Roadster. Tlie cars on display are all in driving condition, so be watching Sunday for them to be going down the road.
SALAD LUNCHEON MAY 17th
Mrs. Griffin reminds us that on Sunday afternoon, May 7, from I p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be an An Show at the Huntley High School. The public is cordially invited to attend, join us for an ice cream social, and view many of the different art exhibits the students have to display. Last years event show ed everyone displays from not only fhe art department but from the metal and woodwork ing shops as well, and proved to be a most interesting and informative event for all who stopped by. Tickets are now on sale for the salad luncheon to be held on May 17. sponcered by the Women's Organization of the Huntley Congregational Church.
