The AuxUiary presents the flags to the school when they are needed. MRS. BEIdO^ NAMED "WOMAN OF THE YEAR^' Last Thursday, November 6th, the Humley Harvestors held their Achievement Night with over 160 people, attending. President Bob Becker introduced the guest for the evening, Mr. k Mrs. Henry Marlowe and Mrs. Dorothy McEachren of McHenry County Historicd Society. Mrs. McEachren was the guest speaker for the evening. She qwke on her trip to China. Linda Boriiart gave a summary of last year's activities and Steve Drendel brought the dub up to date on the activities planned for this year. The County and State Award winners from Mcfiamy County ' Contiaac(> on Back Page Rose Noriega, President of the West Broward Symphony Guild, {announced that Mrs. Edwin Deicke Had been selected the guUd's "Woman ofthe Year."On Oct. 30th, Mrs. Deicke wUl represent the GuUd at the Plabtation Women's Club Annual Award Ceremony and luncheon. Mrs. Noriega went on to say, "She is a lot of fim, t(x>. Our recem Masquerade Party proves that again. It was a most enjoyable experience with an atmosphere of genuine fun and friendliness pervading. We thank Lois for her efforts, for her dedication, her generosity and the persond sacrifices she makes in behalf of our GuUd. Many can make sacrifices for one or two years, but few have this commitment fbr as long as she has. She has been the recipient of this award befbre. We feel that she should actudly be "The Woman ofthe Decade" and we thank her." Mrs. Deicke haa been active bi supporting the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Orcheatra since 1967 and was the (mly person to have recehred this honor twke m that area. Mrs. Dekke it a Director on the over-aU Symphony Association which encompaases Broward County, although called "Fort Coatfaraed-da P»te r ^ DRUG & ALCOHOL ABUSE SEMINAR NOV.aStti On November 25th at 7:30 p.m. Deputy Eisle of the McHenry County SherifTs De¬ partment will be the Guest Speaker at the High School Library. Alcohol abuse, a growing, nationd concem, af¬ fects large number of students and addts across the country and even reaches into the grade school ages. Excessive indul¬ gences has taken its toll on untold number of lives and has left a path of turmoil in hs wake. Deputy Eisle of the McHenry County Sheriff's Department will present an informative address on drug and alcohol abuse and answer parents' questions concerning adult or teenage drag/dcohol problems. Please plan to attend this important meeting.
