The Legion k AuxUiary held their Joint Installation last Saturday,! \Iuly 19th at the Legion Home. Commander Don Hardy opened the' meeting by introducing the Huntley Color Guard who presented the flags. Chaplain Bob Schultz asked for peace for our nation and for everyone to play for our comrades who keep the fires of freedom alive and to bless and comfort those in mental and physical discomfort.
Marilyn Eckman. outgoing President, said her farwell stating that Huntley was 1st in the District with 100% membership and that the AuxUiary had donated SISOO to community service projects during her year. She added that she was proud of the Blood Bank who had collected 105 pints of blood and over ISOO pints since its conception. Neva Robertshaw, Blood Bank Chairman, was given an award. Special praise went to Don Hardy and Marilyn Eckman. President Eckman also gave special thanks to George Wassertrass, May Chesak, Vi Jurs, Bemice Bakley, Fem Enstrom. Berry Zirk, Mabel Schultz, and Wanda Enstrom.
The Auxiliary Installing Officers were Eileen Jensen; Chaplain Fem Enstrom; Sgt at Arms Elaine Murphy and Musican Pat Marks. This year's Legion theme is "Come Share a Drea." Mrs. Jensen gave a description of each office as the new officers were pinned. Fem Enstrom lead the prayer. The gavel was presented to the new president, Mabel Schultz. Mabel's first act was to present May Chesak with pictures of her from the State Convention. May won the 1 st Place for her music report.
Mabel urged all members to attend the August 4th meeting when her Chairmen wUI be announced. Thc Girl Staters will also be there with some good news.
