Meeting
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District 158, Huntley Consolidated Schools, Huntley, II. was held in the High School building on Jan. 18, 1990, at 7:30pm.
The meeting was called to order by the Vice President at 7:37pm. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Ms. Ahrens, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Greve, Mr. Bauman, Mr. Freeberg. Absent: Mr. Heavey. All present joined in the pledge to the flag.
1. Mr. Crabill moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the Dec. 21 regular meeting as written. 6 yeas-0 nays, motion carried.
2. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the Dec. 21, executive session. 6 yea* - 0 nays, motion carried.
3. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $25,289.63; OBM - $13,478.27; Transportation - $2,543.62. Yeas: Greve, McDonald, Ahrens, Crabill, Bauman, Freeberg, Nays: None. 6 yeas
- 0 nays, motion carried.
4. Ms. Ahrens moved, Mr. Crabill 2nd to approve the proposal of Eder, Riedel, it Co. to provide required auditing services, accordingly for FY 90. 6 yeas
- 0 nays, motion carried.
5. Mr. Greve moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to approve the resolution allowing the superintendent to prepare the tentative budget for FY 91. 6 yeas-0 nays; motion carried.
6. Mrs. McDonald moved, Ms. Ahrens 2nd to approve early graduation for the following students: Sue Tresler, Eron Boley, Amanda Raymond, Deborah Barnes. 6 yeas - 0 nays; motion carried.
7. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Grev&2nd adjourn at 9:11pm. 6 yeas - 0 nays; meeting adjourned.

FFA Week Activities
FFA member* all over the country will promote FFA, agricultural education and the food and Hber industry during National FFA Week, Feb. 17-24. Each year FFA Week is held during the week of George Washington's birthday (traditional) to recognize his leadership and commitment to American agriculture.
Huntley's FFA members will be working together to present the following activities:
Feb. 19. Agricultural Science Day; promoting ag-sciences
Feb. 20. Interview students; tape to be shown at businessmen's breakfast and 7/8 grade assembly
Feb. 21. Businessmen's Breakfast Buffet, 6-8am
Feb. 23. 7/8 grade assembly to promote Greenhand Day by Ty Ziller, Tim Lombard, Tina Wesemann, Todd Kahl, Stacy Colson, Shannon Raby and Debbie Barnes (who is currently in second place for the State Farmer Award).

Vehicle Tags Now On Sale
Huntley vehicle tags may now be purchased at the Village Hall.
Prices are: Snowmobiles $3 Motorcycles/motor bikes $3 Automobiles $6 Recreational vehicles $6 Trucks-3/4 ton or less $6 All Vehicles in excess of 3/4 ton $10
A late charge of $5.00 per month shall apply after due date of March 1, 1990.
Village Hall Hours are: Mon. it Sat. 8 am to 12 noon Tues. thru Fri. 8 am to 4 pm

Happy Birthday, Abe Lincoln!
In celebration of our past president's birthday and memory, the Huntley Grade School's 3rd grade students continued the tradition, as in years previous. The "Abe Lincoln" play was performed on Wednesday morning, Feb. 7th and Thursday evening, Feb. 8th. Congratulations to the third grade students for their delightful performances. A special congratulations and thanks to Mrs. Kathy Leggee, 3rd grade teacher, who did a wonderful job of directing, as always. Thanks to all who helped with the play-in whatever capacity that might have been. All who attended the performances enjoyed themselves.
