SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consoli¬ dated Schools, Hundey, Hlinds, was held in the High School building on August 25, 1977 at 7:30 P.M.
Upon roll call, the following answered present: Mrs. Living¬ ston, Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettschneider, Mr. Grismer; Mr. Tack, absent. Due to Mr. Zirk the secretary I being absent, Kay Pawl was] appointed secretary pro tern.
1. Addition to the minutes of I Aug. 11, 1977; bills for Board of I Education meeting were included f by Mr. Marks.
2. Correction to did minutes; 1 Kay Pawl was elected secretary j pro tem due to Mr. SSrics' absence I on Aug. 11, 1977. Mr. Zirk entered meetingat 8:30 P.M. and resumed being secretary at that time. A motion to approve! correction by Mr. Brettschneider I •nd 2nd by Mrs. Pawl. All| members voted yea, no nay votes. Motion carried.
3. A motion made by Kay Pawl, 2nd by Mrs. Koppie to accept the High School Credits Policy as presented. Members votiag yaa were: Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie, Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Brettschnei¬ der, and Mr. Pupich. 5 yeas, no nays. Motioncarried.
4. Mr. Grismer entered meet¬ ing st 7:45 P.M.
5. A motion was made by Mrs. Pawl, 2nd by Mr. Pupich to adopt the Proposed Attendance Pdicy as modified. Members voting yea were Mr. Pupich, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Brettschneider, Mrs. Living¬ ston, Mrs. Koppie and Mrs. Pawl. 6 yeas. No nays. Motion carried.
6. 8:10 P.M. Board went into executive session to discuss 6,7, &8th grade girls' vdleyball coach candidates.
Came out of executive session at 8:30 P.M.
6. A motion was made by Mr. Brettschneider, 2nd by Mrs. Koppie to approve Penny Riedl's early graduation from high school. Members voting yea were, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettsch¬ neider, Mr. Grismer, Mrs. Liv¬ ingston, Mrs. Koppie, and Mrs. Pawl. 6 yeas. No lutys. Motion carried.
7. A motion was made by Mrs. Koppie, 2nd by Mr. Pupich to accept Donald Perry's resigna¬ tion. Members voting yea were, Mrs. Pawl, Mrs. Koppie, Mrs. Livingston, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Brettschneider, and Mr, Pupich. No nays. 6 yeas. Motioacanied.
8. A motion by Mr. Brettsch¬ neider, 2nd by Mr. Pupich to accept Mr. Henry Wozniers re¬ signation was approved. Mem¬ bers voting yea were, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettschneider, Mr. Grismer, Mrs. Livingston, Mrs. Koppie, and Mrs. Pawl. 6 yeas. No luy. Motioncarried.
9. A motion made by Mrs. Koppie, 2nd by Mr. Brettschnei¬ der to ^prove a contract for Carol Van Bogeart as a 6th grade Language 4rt teacher. RoU call - 6yeas. No nays. Motion carried.

HUNTLEY FARMERS HELP THEIR NEIGHBOR
Last Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6th I and 7th, a group of farmers lead by Fred Diedrick gave a helping hand to their neighbor, Ltoyd Westerdale of Westerdale Farm. Mr. Westerdale was hospitalized and could not get his crop harveste<L,,.^^,..
The farmers, who are pictured above, each brought a tractor and wagon to the Westerdale
Farm and filled two silos with com. Tlie farmers wives donated food to feed the crew.

An Eagle Scout from Huntiey' named Tony Korwin has been selected by State Representative Cal Skinner, Jr.'s scholarship advisory committee to be award¬ ed one of Skinner's Public AfEtirs Scholarships for his second year at EastemUllnc^ University.
As Dr. James O'Laughlin, one of tho«e who thla award, put it, "One would never fell that there was any gamble at giving Mrn a schorarshlp."
At Easterfi, Korwin helped organize a student movement against the tuitkm increaae while serving on a student senate committee, assisted on a Red Cross blood drive, was active ia the student Bible study group, and served as announcer/eagi- neer fbr the campus radio statiotjf In 1976, he was also selected \j the Rockford Register-Star aa "1976 Young American".
