Del Webb plans to open new models in weeks

Press Publications
The streams of prospective home buyers who have toured Del Webb's sales office for months will soon be able to get a firsthand view of the homes.
Eleven models are under con¬ struction on Marketing Trail, a street off of Del Webb Boulevard, Sun City's main thoroughfare.
Del Webb spokeswoman Harriet Ford said there has been a tremendous public response to Del Webb's first northern-cli¬ mate conununity. Ford said 206 homes were sold in the first 30 days, almost half the homes the village of Huntley has approved to be built this year.
When completed in about 10 years. Sun City is expected to be the home of more than 8,000 people, living in about 5,000 homes. The first residents are expected to move in May or June.
"Another neighborhood opened up last week," Ford said. "We've had a very positive response from the Chicago area."
The price of the ranch-style homes will range from $140,000 to $290,000. Homes will vary in size from 1,100 to 2,600 square feet. A grand open¬ ing of the models is slated for mid-November.
Adjacent to the models, a 95,000-square-foot recreation/sales office is under construction, with a completion date targeted for sometime in spring.

Redskins end long losing streak
Steve Brosinski
Press Publications
The Redskins have put off a victory celebration long enough.
After nearly three sea¬ sons without a single win, the Redskins beat the Genoa-Kingston Cogs 16- 6 on Friday. Both teams were 0-7 going into the game.
"They had a good oie time," head coach Mike Slattery said. "They dumped Gatorade on me. I'm really excited for the boys because they could have folded a lot earlier, and they didn't."
The Redskins first score came on a tipped 12-yard pass from quar¬ terback Jason Brown to wide receiver Gary Muellar. Kurt Montanye, who later scored on a 45- yard touchdown run, then ran for the two-point con¬ version, putting the Redskins ahead 8-6 at halftime.
Following Montanye's 45-yard touchdown, Scott Getzleman caught a pass for a two-point conver¬ sion.
Slattery said the team was able to break a 25- game loosing streak because of good play on both sides of the scrim¬ mage line.
