Huntley Squad In Accident
On Sunday, July 401; at 2:25 p.m. Elmer C. Johfi, age 58, 908 Wheeler in Woodstock, Illinois struck the Huntley Police Car at the interesction of Rte. 47 and the Algonquin Blacktop. According to the accident report John stated ttat he saw the Huntley Squad Car stop for tte stop sign and thought ttat it was going to turn left south on Rte 47. Fireworks For

No one was injured. One hun¬ dred dolars wortt of ctemage was done to John's car and a^pTOsd- mately $300 or more worth of damage was done to the right front doro of tte Huntley squad car.

Mr. LouLs Mareti, owner of the CarpentersviHe Fireworks Co. of Huntley, Illinois put on a fireworks display last Monda, June 5t}i, on the athletic field of HunUey High ffchol. The show featured ttree ground displays in addition to aer¬ ial firewOTks which were shot over the south goal post. The show lasted for 45 minutes and was con¬ cluded with a fireworks display of the American  flag.
The show was enjoyed by many Huntley residents and was com¬ pared to displays in other towns costinp thousands of dolars.. This is tte second year that Mr. Mor- etti ras put on a fireworks ^ow for Huntley.
Two Killed During Fourth Holiday
There were two Fourth of July iioliday tragedies when Michael Bassett, 22, 471 Margaret Terrace, Cary, and Neal Davis Jr., 40, 5501 Greenview Road, Cary, were kiUed irt a 2 car accident on tte Cary- Algonquin Blacktop north of Algon¬ quin in tlie early mOTUing hours of Saturday, July 3. Ricky Davis, 12, son of Neal was injured in the ac¬ cident. He was taken to tiie McHei¬ ry Hospital in serious condition.
According to an eye witoess, Tom Ooforth, an off duty Algonquin pt>- liceman, the Bassett car was head¬ ed south. It cros-^ed ovwr and Ut tre Daris car hiead'' oti. The two cars were practkaily demolished, according to Ooforth, wfao was directly behind tte Davis car wiiich was struck as the Davis car flew back from the hnpact.

Sheriffs Dept. Assists Wisconsin
^On June 25, 1971, in the morn¬ ing, Sergeant James ConneUy re¬ ceived a call from Sheriff William Cummings of Walwortt County, Wisconsin, requesting the assistance of the narcotics squad. On the night of JUne 26, 1971, the men were deputized and assigned to teams upon arriving at Walwortt County Sherifrs Office in Elkhom, Wiscon¬ sfai.
At 7:06 P.M. ibe narcofics team were dispatched and started work¬ ing the Majestic Hills area soutt- west of Lake Geneva. Members of the teams were from Walworth County narcotics squad, Wisconsin Department of Justice narcotics squad and McHenry County Sher¬ iffs Department narcotics squad. A total of thirty-ttree (33) were ar¬ rested for sales of narcotics and dangerous drugs, along with posses¬ sion of narcotics and dangerous drugs.
The McHenry County ' Sheriffs Department narcotics squad was supervised l>y Detective Sergeant James Connelly.
Sheriff WUliSm Cummings com¬ mented that this department is well trained and dkl a superb job. Ho was very impressed witt the ef¬ ficiency of our narcotics  squad.

McHenry County AviU be paying $39,399 in a two year retroactive pay for female nurses aids at the VaUey Hi Nursing Home.
On Monday, June 28, William Morefield. Administrator of VaUey Hi Appeared before tlie McHenry County Board of Supervisors stat¬ ing that "Mr. Nelson" from tte Federal Government had visited VaUey Hi and had inspected the payroU. He found, according to Morefield, that the female nurses aids had been receiving $1.83 an hour while tte male orderlies re¬ ceived 82.45 an hour.
County Clerk Vernon Kays read the duties of bott jobs as set fourtt by tte County and thcy are almost alike.  Therefore   Morefield  stated

Supervisor Edwin Buckley, Dorr, asked for time to study tte federal ruling by an expert in ttis type of law, but Morefield said that 16 hours faad already been used in computing the $39,399 and that ttese delays would cost more mon¬ ey.
Supervisor Harold Freese, Nun¬ da, moved ttat tte money be paid. The retroactive pay figures iiave been referred to the fees and sal¬ ary committee.
