B&B Service will celebrate its 55th business anniversary on May 1. 1970'. One rf the old¬ est busines.ses in Hunt'ov. it was established by William (Bill) Seiler and Lyle (Bus) Rubash, and the name B&B was derived from their initials. As a Mobile Station when opened, the B&B was the seventh gas station in Huntley. Prior to being a service sta¬ tion, the building had b"on the offica of a feed mill, and it wns converted by the ownor, Mr. Lazerschult^ of Barrincton, to a singrle bay garage and was expanded to a two bay in late 1941 and has remained the same since then. Bill and Alethea Seiler he- carrre the sole owners and or>- erators of the business I.Tte in 1941. It has roniainod a faniily business over the years. Long time residents can recall the sight of Bill doirg mechanical work, Aleth<^a keeping books and the four young Seilers grow¬ ing frcm playpens to gas pumps attendants and adults. Richard became a partner in 1966 and his wife Holly assumed the duties of bookkeeper in Septem¬ ber of 1975. Today a new gen¬ eration of little Seilers can be seen at the B&B. The station has employed many local men over the years. As a member of the Huntley "Vocational Training Program, Bin and Dick have employed and trained high school boys interestod in the gas and serv¬ ice business. The Seilers are prcnid to be a part of the Huntley Commun¬ ity and happy to provide the best service possible to its resi¬ dents. Bill has always said "Huntley has been good to us." As a "thank you" to friends and patrons of the B&R an anniversary celebration is plan¬ ned for Saturday, May 1-, 1976 from 8;00 p.m to 1:00 a.m. at the Huntley Fire Barn. There will bo dancing lunch, beer and door prizes so plan to attend and help celebrate .15 years with the B&B Service. Bake Sale Takes In $300. The Bob Scouts marched with¬ out rain gear or coats In the rain, fhl.s decision had been made before the paradte by a vote of the scouts and leaders Don DeDina, Gary DeDina and Wm. Graff. Tlie Seouts were an inrpi-ess* ive sight in their uniorms and purple vestr"? (made by Mrs! Graff) and their precision marching. Followinig- the par¬ ade, the scoiiit leaders and a small gix>up of Huntley moth> ers waited at the Chamlber et Corr'merce for the results. Huntley received 3rd place in the appearence catlgary.
