SINCX1960 15c PES COPT SCHOOL BOARD NEWS The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District (tt58, of the Huntley Consolidated School was held in the liigh School BuUding on September 13,1976 at 7:45 PM. Upon roll call • the following answered presenf: Mrs. Living¬ ston, Mr. Zirk, Mr. Ziller, Mr. .Brettschneider, Mr. Ruth and Mrs. Simpson ' - Mr. Stading I absent. 1. A motion made by Mrs. ' Livingston and 2nd by Mr, Brett¬ schneider to approve of the minutes as read. Motion carried. 2. A motion made by Mr. Ruth and 2nd by Mrs. Livingston to pay bills as presented xvith the excep¬ tion of Gerald West Architect and withhold $4,000.00 from this mo¬ nths bill on Magill-Welkos Con¬ struction Company as well as the $1200.00 withheld from last mo¬ nths bill. This is to be held until the Architect supplies answers to questions on the new Gym build¬ ing. ^Motion carried 6 yeas & o ¦ays'. 3. A motionmade by Mr. Ziller and 2nd by Mr. Zirk to transfer $126.35 to the Imprest fund. I Motion carried 6 yeas & 0 nays. I 4. A motion made by Mr. Ruth land 2nd by Mrs. Simpson to ' accept the resignation of Edward I Seiler as bus Supervisor effective ; 9-30-76 per his verbal agreement rather than 9-25-76 as stated on his written letter. Motion carried 5 yeas & 1 nay with Mr. Zirk casting the nay vote. 5. A motion made by Mrs. Livingston and 2nd by Mrs. Simpson to advertise the position of bus mechanic with applications to be in by September 24, with a j Special meeting to be held at 7 iPM on September 27th to hire qualified appplicant. Motion car- Iried 6 yeas & 0 nays. 7. A motion made by Mr. i Brettschneider and 2nd by Mrs. Livingston to approve Tax Shel¬ tered Annuities eiffective Septem¬ ber 1,1976 as follows: Carol McGruine, Centeral Life William Eisenmenger, Aid Assn. for Lutherans Edgar Ream, Mutual of New York Violet Williams, Pacific Mutual Eva Isenhart, Pacific Mutual Donald Perry, State Farm Life . Motion carried 6 yeas & 0 nays. 8. A motion made by Mr. Ruth and 2nd by Mrs. Simpson to approve of the contract of Ruth Ann Plane as Library Aid for Nine months at a salary of $2.25 per hoar. Motion carried 6 yeas &. 0 nays. 9. A motion made by Mr. Brettschneider and 2nd by Mr. Zirk to approve of the contract for Patricia Peterson as Bookkeeper for the remainder of the fiscal year at a salary of $6,540.00 to be pro-rated. Motion carried 6 yeas 6 Onays. 10. A motion made by Mrs. Livingston and 2nd by Mr. Ruth to approve of the contract for • Peggy Seymour as LD Resource teacher at a salary of $12,038. t Motion carried 6 yeas & 0 nays. : 11. A motion made by Mr. Zirk and 2nd bv Mr. Brettschneider to Continued from Page 1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HUNTLEY PARK DISTRICT The regular meeting of the Huntley Park Districf Board was held on Wednesday, September 22nd, 1976 at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was called to Order by President Parisek, with Commiss¬ ioners Deieke, Mackeben, Parisek and Ruth present and Commiss¬ ioner Tures absent. The Secretary was asked to read the minutes of the previous meeting of 8-25-76, after which a motion^was made by Mr. Deieke, seconded by Mr. Ruth, to approve the minutes as read. All Com¬ missioners voted aye and the motioned carried. At this point in the meeting Mr. Ziller and Mr. Ruth of the Huntley School Board entered the meeting. The Treasurers report was then presented, showing a balance in the checking account of $12,995.- 67. A motion was made by Mr. Deieke, seconded by Mr. Mack¬ eben, to accept the report as presented. All Commissioners vo¬ ted aye and the report was filed for audit. The President then recognized the representatives from the Sc¬ hool Board. A discussion was held concerning reserving the tennis courts for the gym classes. A request was made to reserve the courts in the months of Sept., Oct., April and May from 2:20 to 3:00 p.m. The Park Board un¬ animously approved the request. A discussion was then held concerning the problem of drain¬ age from the school property. Having consulted with a repre¬ sentative from the Dept. of Soil Conservation, the Park Board was advised to accept only 8" drain¬ age into its proposed lake or the danger of flooding would be too great. A motion was made by Mr. Mackeben, seconded by Mr. De¬ ieke, to approve the schools drainage of excess water with 8" tile, onto the parks property. Upon roll call all Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. The Park Board will have its lawyer draw up an agreement stating all restrictions concemed with the above mention. A discussion concerning the problem of the land set aside for "' the Lincoln Street Extension. No . final decision was made on this matter. Having completed their business with the board, Mr. Ziller and Mr. Ruth then took leave of the meeting. The President then presented the monthly bills for payment, after Which a motion was made by Mr. Mackeben, seconded by Mr. Parisek, to pay all bills as presented. Upon roll call all - Commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. Next a resolution authorizing Carol Weirich, Secretary-Treas- ' urer of the Huntley Park District, _ to deposit the districts funds was presented. A motion was made by _ Mr. Mackeben, seconded by Mr. Parisek, to approve the resolution - as presented. Upon roll call all Commissioners voted aye and the ~ motion carried. This year the Department will demonstrate how to put otit a large propane fire. Last year they burned a car in the street in front of the Fire Station to demonstrate how to extinguish ' this type of blaze. In addition to • the fire demonstration; free blood tests will be given and a Cardlac- i pulmonary recessitation will be . taken. All of the fire equipment and rescue equipment will be on display. The Firemen extend a cordial invitation for everyone to attend. Refreshments will be served. PROCLAMATION Whereas, the more than six hundred and thuty Lions Qubs of ^ Illinois are again this year spon- ) soring a state-wide campaign to I aid the blind; and Whereas, the theme of this commendable endeavor—"Help 'the Lions help the blind"—is intended to remind all who are less fortunate; and Whereas, response to this pub¬ lic appeal by the Lions Qubs has ¦ shown admirable concem for the ' sightless in past years: Now, therefore, I, Donald En¬ strom, Mayor of the Village of Huntley, do hereby proclaim the week of October 27 through 23, A.D. 1976, to be Lions Week in Huntley for the visually handi- • capped with Special emphasis on candy day for the blind on Friday. October 22, and Saturday, Octo- ber 23, and urge all citizens to support the campaign for this . worthy purpose. Dated this 30th day of September, . 1976. Donald Enstrom Mayor REDSKINS TIED FOR FIRST The Huntley Redskin Football Team rode over Moosehart 27 to 0 for their third victory of the season with tto defeats. Huntley scored eariy in the game, the first two times they had the ball in the first quarter racking up 13 points. Two more touch downs came later in the third quarter for 14 points. Tim Siegrist made two of the TD's on a six yard run and a three yard ran. Qark Borhart laid a touch down on a 4 yard run. Jim Ream caught a 38 yard pass from Ron Marsh for a touch down. -Three extra points /were kicked by James Michaelsen. Leading rush¬ es were Dave Lindsey with 43 yards and Tim Siegrist at 42 yards rashing. Ron Marsh completed 7 out of 16 passes for 151 yards and' 1 TD. On the defensive side th^ Pictured above Is Mayor Don Enstrom signing the Lions Qub Day Proclamation. Also pictured above is Mayor Enstrom making the first donation to the Lions Club President Ed Hayes. The Huntley Lions Qub will hold their candy day on October 23rd. REDSKINS WIN AGAIN! leading tacklers were Larry Bor- hardt with 14, Ron Schultze with 12 and Doug Borhardt wtth 11. Doug also recovered a fumble. The defensive also held Moose¬ hart to minus 27 yards on the ground. This is Huntley's third win. Previously the team beat Hebron 27-8 and Wheaton Christ¬ ian 32-0. They are tied for first place with Hampshire. This tie - should be broken next Saturday when they will meet at 2 p.m. at Hampshire. This game will be , broadcast live on WVFV 104 FM and is sponsored by the State .Bank of Huntley and J.H. Patter¬ son Company. ^ REMEMBER TO REGISTER TO VOTE
