Inside the Farrnside is Huntley's history photographed from an 1885 McHenry County History Book lent to us t)y the Dwyer family. This book contained biographies of many of Ihe town leaders. We will run at least four book pages each week until the book is completed. In weeks to come we will also be publishing history from a 1923 book. As we wish to keep the 1885 material intact so that the reader will have each page as it was in the book, the material will be carried over during the ensuing weeks.
As the history book tells PreocottWhittemore came to Illinois in 1838. When he settled In the Huntley area between 1828-39, he gave the name of Grafton Township to this area in honor of his old home in New Hampshire also nanDed Grafton Township.
Louise Kreutzer, Hedy Leonard, Chuck Ackerberg, Bud Weber and Mayor Don Enstrom. Chuck was present with the Bicentennial emblem he had made.
