Heroic Efforts To Recover Body
An old feu^ioned bucket brigade by the Huntley Fire Department finally lead tot tie recovery of the body of Loren Brighton, Lowell Ave., Shaumburg, an American Air¬ lines Pilot who was trapped in about 5 feet of swamp muck after his small stunt plane crasiied Ln a swampy small lake area located on a fann on MHler Road near Randall Road.
The accident occured at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16 and rescue crews worked for 24 hours before tiie body was fiivally recov¬ ered at 3:28 P.M. Friday.
The small blue aircraft was com¬ pletely submerged in the mud and only its tail protruded. McHenry County aieriff Mid Chief of police of lakewood, Earl Stoddard work¬ ed from the time that they ar¬ rived at the scene at about 5 P.M. Friday until dark. They were com¬ pletely covered with wet slimy mud and complained of gasoUne bums or their bodies as the plane had released gas into the water wihere tiiey were workir^ to remove tiie body.
Sheriff TyrreM told tbis reporter just before the rescue effort was abandoned that they had been able to attach a rope to Mr. Bright¬ on's leg, but that they could not pull him out of the plane, becau.se he had his seat belt fastened and they oould not get down far enough into the deep mud to release tiie bett. It was Tdso tiiougbt; at the time that the motor of the plane had lodged on top of Mr. Bright¬ on.

Upon rcdl call the foUowing an¬ swered present Mr. Jirik, Mr. Bein, Mr. Midhelsen and Mr. Stading. Mr. Brandwein, Mr. Adams, andi Mr. Ziller absent.
A motion made by Mr. Bein and 2nd by Mr. Michelsen to approve of the mdnutes as read. Motion car¬ ried 4 yeas and 0 nays.
At this stage of the meeting Mr. Brandwedn and Mr. Ziller made their ap^arance.
A motion made by Mr. Ziller and 2nd by Mr. Brandwein to pay the following monthly bills. Motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
A moticMi made by Mr. Stading and 2nd by Mr. Jirik to transfer $375.39 from the Ed Fund to the revolving fund. Motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.
A motion made by Mr. Stading and 2nd by Mr. Bern to transfer $17,397.08 fi^ the Educational fund to the Jr. College fund. Mo¬ tion carried 6 yeas amd 0 nays.
A motion made by Mr. Michelsen and 2nd by Mr. Brandwein to trans¬ fer $2,882.78 from the Eduoational fund to the 111. Mun. Retir. fund. Motion carried 6 yeas and 0 nays.

Lion^s Chicken Bar-B^ Success
The alMive pictures were taken at the Huntley Lions Club annual Chicken Barbeque held last Sunday at Ihe Huntley Plre Stathw. The totak from tbe day were not available as the Farm^de goes to pren. However tt has been reported that all the diicken and pies, etc. were sold by flie eiid of the day. An estimated 1,400 peofiie attended the dinner. The moa^ raised from the Barbeque is used for their many worthwhBe aettvitka throughout the area. The Huntley Lions wish to thank everyone who at¬ tended.
