Community Discussion Meeting on Drug Abuse Oct. 22
On Sunday, October 22, the Youth Committee and several c4h- er concerned citizens and young people of our communty are spon¬ soring a oommunity discussion meeting concerniag Drug Abuse. lUs meeting, which will be held at the school gym at 4 P.M. will fea¬ ture Mr. Michael L. Hurt, who is a regristered sohood and clinical psychologist who is now working in the comnuinity.
Mr. Htut has had considenable experience in the fields of Drue and Alcohol Abuse aod is consid^ ered an expert in the field. He is, in fact, the person who prepared the Community Drug Abuse Pro¬ gram recently adopted by the City ot Cryatial Lake.
Mr. Hurt has been asked to prc- seilt some ideas to the community so tbat the citizens and your^ peo¬ ple of Huntley can determine what. can be done to deal with Drug Abuse in tMs area.
Mr. Hurt will discuss v;htidus as- .((f prc^rans that have la other communities and ^fee prepared to answer your ^MHlone concerning the subject. Girl Scout Notice
"Adults will NOT be canvasing the Huntley area on Thursday, Ootober 19tb, to ocMleot donations for the Girl Scouts as was announced in the paper la^ week. This change is due to conflicting activities.
School Notice
There will be school Monday. October 23 as Veteran's Day is back to Novemt>er 11.
Fitst Inservice Day October 27
The first out of five Inservice Day's is Friday, Ootober 27, 1972. Dismissal time is 12 Noon. The day will be used to make plans for conferences in January and con¬ tinue working on the schooi im¬ provement plan.
Huntley School Fully Recognized
Huntley Grade School and High School received infMimation from the State Office of Public Instruc¬ tion that both schools in District No. 158 have been fully i-ecogpized for the 1971-72 schooi year. This recognition is based on visits from the State CMflce of PiMic Instrucr tion and from reports submitted to ttiat office.
