Annual Lions Chichen Barhedue

Pictured alove are sceans from the Annual Jluntiey Lion Club Chicken Barbeque held at the Huntley Fire Bam last Sunday, June 20, from 11 A-M. till 4 P.M.
The Barbeque is held each ye£U- on' Farthers Day and is the club's main money making project during the year. Funds raised from the occasion are used for youth activ¬ ities throughout the area and other Lions Activities.
As in years past the club sold all of the food prepared by the end of
the day. lhe event was termed a success by a Lions Club spoksman.

Upon roll call the following ans¬ wered present: Mr. Jirik, Mr. Mich¬ elsen, Mr. Bein, Mr. Brandwein, Mr. Adams, Miss Macket)en and Mr. Stading. None absent.
1 A motion was made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Brand wein to approve of the minutes as read.
Motion Carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.
2 A motion made by Mr. Brsuid- wein seconded by Mr. Bein to pay tlie monthly bills.
Motion Carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.
3 A motion made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Miss Mackeben to transfer $306.25 from the Ed. Fund to the Revolving fu^d.
Motion Carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.
4 A motion madejjby t/lr. Brand¬ wein and 2nd by Mr. Michelsen to approve of the bids from Meier Floor Service to repair and reflnish the Gym flror for Approvimately $1,821.60.
Motion Carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.
5 A motion made by Mr. Brand¬ wein and 2nd by Mn. Michelsen to the inauraoce contract to Conntry Companies, being the low bidder for a sum cf $7,929.55 per year, on a three year contract.
Motion carried 5 yeas, 1 nay and I pass. Mr. Stading casting the
ray voote and Mr. Adams passing.
6 A motion made by Mr. Michel¬ sen and 2nd by Mr. Bein to award fhe bid for sealing the Asphalt in the Playground area cast of the elementary building plus the drive way, for the sum of $1,155.00, to Jackson Asphault Paving Co. Motion Carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.

July 1st Postal Service Day
TTie inauguration of the new Uni¬ ted States Postal Service on July 1, will be celebrated in Washington, D.C, and in every post office across the country. Postmaster Michelsen has announced that all members of the community are invited to visit their local post office on July 1st.
Dedication ceremonies in Wash¬ ington will be hosted by Postmaster General Blount. Honored guests at the dedication will include members of C<mgress, former Postmasters General, the Board of Governors of the new Postal Service and their wives, as well as Assistant Post¬ masters General, headquarters per¬ sonnel and other dignitaries.
Visitors to the post office will be given a souvenir envelope imprint¬ ed with the old and new insignia of the Postal Service. This envelope will also be made available in limit¬ ed numbers as a first day cancela¬ tion - for just the cost of an 8c stamp - by stamping and canceling ralf of the souvenir envelopes in advance. This will be the first time First Day Covers have i)een avail¬ able in all U.S. Post Offices.
A photographic display of modem Postal Service jobs and fimctions will help visitors leam more about the men and women of the Postal Service and how each mail user can heip them to serve the community better.
