Presents Bicentennial Flag
Pictured above is Mr. Harry Purdom, owner of Harry's IGA, "The Grocery on the Square in Huntley," as he presented a Bi¬ centennial flag to Robert Schachtner, Legion Commander, last Sun¬ day. The flag was raised at an impressive ceremony in front ol the post.
Mr. Purdom purchased his grocery store from Don McCullom three years a«o. Twenty years prior liie store was owned by Mr. Purdom, Harry's father, where Harry learned much of the grocery business. In 197.5, he changed the name oi tbe store from Harry's Super Valu to Harry's IGA. S'nce taking Over the store Mr. PurdonJ has worked diligently to ui)grade the Main Street business distrkt

March 4. 1076, Police received a report that nnoke was comiive from an apartment. Upon arrival it v/as determhwd thiat the odor was coming from a stereo which had shorted out.
March 5, 1976. Police were called to a local residence in which a brick was thrown at the house. No damage 'was reoorted, and police were advised that three >'«un2 boys were seen running from the arei.1.

March 6. 1976, Police were call¬ ed to a local fcavem in which a fight may have taken place. Upon arrival by police a subject stated that tbey were sinick in the face, however they did not want to sign a complaint
March 6, 1976. Police received a report from a citizen thet some¬ body had put a liole in the gas tanlc of Ws automobile. Polico are inve^tiguUng.
March 7. 1978, Po4ke received a report of a theft of a sti*reo 8 tracl( frotn an automobile. Po¬ lice are investigating the theft.
Big Bird In Huntfey
Bi" Bird of Television's Sesame Street, visitetl the Huntley Super- market last Saturday. Mairch 6th to greet children of all eges. The Bird was at the local grocery store in conjunction v/ith a luCie Andrew spe^C'sl on Sesame Stix>et on WREX-TV. Rockford, whioh was sponsored by the Shiurfine cliain. The Huntley store and a grocery in Rockford were the only two which Blp Bird visited. Mr. Allen reportetl havnig the 2nd largest day of business.

This weekend the new Hwi+lev I iiiimlronvat in the Center will bave its grand opening.
