Ronald Downen has been notified by the American Motorcycle Association that ho has qualified forthe semi-final event in the 1976 Can Am National Amateur Motocross Championship to be held at West Monroe. Louisiana September 12th.
Ron resides at 10617 Kathleen Avenue with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. \ frnon Downen. He is 19 years old and is employed by Fox 1 rails Minors. Algonquin. He has hecn racing motocross about 2 \iars and advanced to the "A" or "expert" class at the start of the current racinj^ season. •
As in Ihc previous qualifiers. Ron will be riding a 124 cc. Can-Am motorcvclc sponsored by Fox Trail Motors. The maintainance and serv ice to the bike is done by Dave Edmondson.
Ron savs he owes much of his success to Dave and to his loyal uroiip ot supporters who have followed his endeavors each Sunday since .March.
OPEN LETTER FROM LOUISE KREUTZER, 125TH ANNIVER¬ SARY CHAIRMAN
( inigratulations and Thank You are still coming in by phone and letter in regard to the 125th Anniversary Celebration. Most all ol the letters and phone calls request that wc continue to have a celebration once a year. While it would be impossible to have the parade that we had this year as an anmial event, it would be possible to perhaps have a Homecoming picnic with entertainment for everyone at least once a year and perhaps dances or other Com¬ munity events other times during the year. We would like to have Nour opinion. F'leasc write P.O. Box ,^.' or phone me. Many years ago the old Community Club provided entertainment periodi¬ cally w ith dances, card games and picnics. Ihis would be a good time to revive the Club. There is a fund left to carry on the project and since so many people of the community contributed to the Anniversary celebration it should be used hir the benefit of all. This would by no means interfere with the money raising events of other organizations. The Anniversary Corp. will be dissolved as of the Ist of January 1977 and a decision will have to be made before that time. Be sure to let us know what you would like us to do. Should wc continue on with a Community Club or should the fund be used for a permanent civic project?

FOR MISSING GIRL
NEAR HUNTLEY
No trace has been found of Barbara Glueckert a 14 year old Mt. Prospect girl who has been missing since about midnight August 21st. The young girl had attended a rock concert on Kreut¬ zer or County Line road which divides McHenry and Kane Coun-

A warrant has been issued for Tom Uriacher, 24, on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He has been positively identified as the person who drove Barbara and another girl to the rock concert.
He has disappeared and was last seen Thursday, August 23rd riding a motorcycle thought to be heading west to Arizona.
On Wednesday, September 1, both the Kane and McHenry County mounted horse patrols and both foot patrols searched the area. They went in 100 feet from the road on both sides. The road is lined with 8 to 10 feet corn fieWs.
According to Sheriff Art Tyrrell there are hundreds of acres of corn in this immediate area.The two county police patrols were assisted by the FBI and at 6:30 AM Wednesday, September 1st, a thermo-gram test was taken of the area.
The therm-o-gram technique was first used in the Vietnam War to detect troop movements thr¬ ough the jungle. The instrument records heat given off in an area.
Last Sunday, August 22nd, the Huntley Boy Scouts went to Circus World in Baraboo, Wise. The tx)ys and scout leaders enjoyed a day watching the Big Top show, a high wire act across a small river and various animals, which they could feed. The museum also contains old circus wagons, posters and pictures depicting the history of Circuses from the U.S. as well a? England.
Following the circus, the scouts went to Devil's Lake for a picnic lunch and swimming.

On Friday August 27th Huntley's two squad cars collided at the corner of Church Street and the Algonquin Blacktop. According to a statement by Huntley's Chief of police Daniel Dziewior, the squad car driven by officer Stohlquist was preceeding South on Church Street. After making a stop at the intersection of Algonquin Road, Stohlquist made a left hand turn onto that street. Officer Toussaint was Eastbound on the Algonquin Blacktop at the Church Street intersection, he started to make a Northbound turn onto Church. He intended to pass on information to Officer Stohlquist, however, Stohlquist had started his turn and struck Toussaint on the left rear panel. Damage was reported to that section of that car as well as to the li(l>fender of Stohlquist's squad. The accident was handled by the State Police, as it is the policy of the Huntley Police Departnnent to have other departments investigate accidents of their personnel while on duty

A Marine helicopter from Glen¬ view Naval Air Station, Glenview, was used to conduct the search.
No trace of Barbara was found.
As school begins and activities start the Girl Scout program gets under way for the coming year. The program is open to all girls. First level-Brownie 1st, 2nd, 3rd
grade girls Second step- Junior 4th, Sth bth
grade girls Third level- Cadette-7th, Sth. 9th grade girls In order to join, all girls never
registered before are asked to pay a three dollar ($3) fee. Giris who were registered in 75-76 are required to pay a two dollar ($2) fee. So that all may get registered and meet their leaders, the night of September 7th from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Congregational Church in Huntley has been selected. Parents as well as girls are invited. Let's make this year's Girl Scout program the best supported yet.
