New 5 Diget House Numbers

Mr. William Tananerus of Wood- .slock inUiated the new address in conjunction with postal, utility andl law enfoi cement officials. Original¬ ly the new five digrit postal num¬ bers were to include McHenry and Luke Counties. The dividing line between the two counties being used as a base line with numbers fjoing west in McHenry County. i..ake County however, turned thumbs down cn tht* project' and ' set up their own numbering system, which according to Mr. Tammeas doesn't work. So aU McHenry Coun¬ ty numbers go west from the Lake County line. The base line for north and south numbers runs through Woodstock, Illinois, the center of the McHenry County. The line hap¬ pens to run throu^ Cooney's Fun¬ eral Home which is the starting point for all north and south num- liei^. The farther north or south you go the larger the numbers be- et^nucs.
Nunibers on Wast and south streets are odd. Numbers on north and east streets are even.
The numbers indicate how ta>r each liome is from the base line iConney's Funeral Home) or the Lake County Line, For instance the Huntley Farmside office is lo¬ cated on the north side of 4th street sO number is even. The number 11902 indicates that the office is eleven and 9/10 miles from the Lake County Lin e. The last two digits indicate a lot in this tenth of ;i mile.
The number of tho Huntley Shoe Box is 11711 whi(ii indicates tbat business is 1 and 7/10 miles from the Lake County Line as. they too are located on an east-west str«K>t. The Shoe Box is on the south side i>( tho street and therefore has an odd number.
E)rnio's Restaurant located om (.>ast side of Route 47 has 11012 for a number which indi(^ates that they are eleven and 0/10 miles from the line running through Cooney's Funeral Home in Wood- .stock.
The Huntley Farm Store located on the west side of Route 47 across from Ernie's Restaurant has man¬ ber 11013 iadicaiting they too arev U and 0/10 miles from the Wood-| stock line.

Hcxwevcr residents who live Vs miles from the post office are entitled to rural mall delivery of a certain number of those living cn a street request it. Police Report
Arncid Biendamiiehl was arrested on January 19, 1974 and charged for disorderly conduct and no valid gun registration. He discharged his shotgun out of the window ot an apartment in Huntley at 9:30 a.m. The gun was confiscated by the Hurtley Police Dept. He was taken to the McHenry Sheriffs Dept. and is awaitinjr trial in the McHenry County JalL
Criminal damage was done to pro¬ perty at Dairy Mart, a window was broken.

The Huntley Ag Dept. is Spon¬ soring Adult Ag. Evening classes on Thunsday at 8 p.m- in the Ag, Dept. classroom. Everyone is wel¬ come to attend and Uiere is not any requirements such as registration or fees ftw the classes. There wiU be fresh rolls, hot coffee and good company. The 5 man team wMi the highest "Scratch" total per toimd advances to the next round. 1 he winner of the Huntley Distri<a Tiurnament will advance to Peoria for the State Toumament at the Town and Country Bowl and play the winner of the Elgin High School District Toumament winner. The State tournament is held Friday and Satuiday, February 14 2, 1974.
There are no individual or school awards presented in the Distriot Tournaments. However, Hmtky will keep 1st, 2nd, 3rd jdaoe bigfa series and high game records. The lirst place round at HunUey's Dis¬ trict finals should start aiDund 4:00.
50 Attent Blood Meeting
The "vei-y consti-uctive meeting of the Blood Assurance Program was attended by about 50 interested per¬ sons from Huntley, Hebron, Algon¬ quin and Woostock.
